Sr Principal Engineer, Design

Onsemi is seeking a design engineer to be part of transfer program management team. The candidate is part of the team to drive project success with the end goal of delivering products on time, right cost and high quality.

This is a “hands on” position. The successful candidate is expected to be able to work independently as well as within teams. They should possess analytical skills to identify problems, the leadership skills to own and drive improvement, the technical skills to balance the benefits and risks of various solution paths. 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
• Provide designer's perspective to trouble shoot issues encountered during transfer, such as (but not limited to): 1. Evaluate criticality of device behavior from receiving site if it cannot match sending site (due to equipment or recipe differences); 2. Identify circuit and test behavior most likely to be impacted; 3. Support simulation or corner splits to help in a risk assessment.
• With various acquisition projects, enable "onsemi-as foundry" design environment.
• Support internal or external tape in/tape outs for transfer projects.  Modify gds if needed for various reasons.

• 10+ years of experience in semiconductor design.
• Bachelors degree
• Process design rules knowledge for mask tape-out 
• Device modeling expertise for process/device matching
• Chip design architecture for probe parameter matching, yield Improvement or failure analysis
• CAD layout support
