About Us

Raytheon’s Naval Airborne Systems (NAS), a sub strategic business unit within Naval Power, seeks a Principal Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) to join the leadership of the Advanced Sensor Products (ASP) Development family of programs.  The ASP Development family of programs provides airborne sensor and processing solutions to the US Navy. 

The LSE will be responsible for guiding the technical execution of projects across ASP Development and developing system-level requirements and architecture. The LSE will also be responsible for integration and verification of new system development. This is an Onsite position in Plano, Texas

What You Will Do

• Lead multiple project teams of varying size and scope, applying multidiscipline engineering knowledge, and supporting all phases of the development and production lifecycle
• Work across leadership, engineering, and shared services to help ensure strategy and execution alignment 
• Coordinate efforts across multiple disciplines and program efforts, to include coordination with external customer entities 
• Interpret mission requirements and objectives into lower-level requirements to the program and supplier teams 
• Provide program leadership to the Cross Product Teams and Integrated Product Teams and many collaborative partners from Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, and Global Supply Chain 
• Provides technical mentorship and structured apprenticeship opportunities to program engineers.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience overseeing technical activities across the development and production lifecycle, including system-level design and integration
• Sensor, processor, and software elements within integrated systems
• Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued Top Secret Security Clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start.  US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

• Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred)
• EO/IR sensor development and platform integration 
• Developing work plans and driving program/team execution 
• Digital Engineering, Model Based Systems Engineering and model-based tools (e.g., Cameo) to capture systems and processes 
• Communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills 
• Experience working with leaders and customer community stakeholders to influence and guide the development of production program projects

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
