Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst supports the CFO through financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, inventory metrics, margin analysis, and operational reporting. This role maintains financial models, validates data, analyzes business results, and prepares recurring reports and scorecards. The Financial Analyst works with Accounting, the Director of GOVX Fulfillment Center, Procurement, Merchandising, Marketing, Member Services, and other departments to provide accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Forecasting

• Support weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Support maintenance of rolling T-12 actual and F-12 forecast models and supporting schedules
• Support forecast updates, variance analyses, KPI dashboards, and scorecards.
• Analyze revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, operating expenses, cash flow, inventory metrics, labor efficiency, and fulfillment costs.
• Identify and communicate material trends, variances, risks, and data issues.
• Support monthly business reviews and executive and Board reporting.

Cash Flow and Working Capital

• Support preparation and maintenance of the weekly cash flow forecast.
• Analyze actual cash activity, forecast variances, working capital, fulfillment expenses, and other cash flow drivers.
• Maintain cash flow assumptions and supporting documentation.
• Identify and communicate potential cash flow risks.

Fulfillment and Inventory Analytics

• Analyze labor efficiency, fulfillment costs, service-level metrics, and operational performance.
• Coordinate with the Director of GOVX Fulfillment Center to obtain and validate operational data.
• Analyze inventory metrics supporting forecasting, margin planning, cash flow, and working capital analysis.
• Support the CFO in preparing margin profile analyses.
• Prepare recurring inventory, margin, labor, and fulfillment scorecards.
• Provide financial analysis supporting Procurement. Procurement remains responsible for finished-goods buying and replenishment decisions.

Business and Operational Analysis

• Support profitability analysis by business line, channel, product category, and operating function.
• Prepare gross margin, ROI, sensitivity, and business-case analyses.
• Compare actual results with approved business-case assumptions and financial targets.
• Support the CFO in preparing financial and operational analyses that contribute to business insights and recommendations.
• Support special projects and operational initiatives.

Systems and Process Support

• Maintain financial models, reports, and dashboards using approved systems.
• Support reporting automation, process standardization, and data-quality improvements.
• Maintain model documentation, reporting controls, and validation procedures.

Key Performance Indicators

• Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and analyses

• Accuracy and completeness of T-12 and F-12 updates

• Timely completion of forecast-to-actual variance analysis

• Accuracy of weekly cash flow reporting

• Accuracy of financial models, dashboards, and scorecards

• Quality of executive and Board reporting support

• Timely identification of material variances, risks, and data issues

• Completeness of model documentation and supporting schedules

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Two to four years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, business analysis, or a similar analytical role.
• Experience supporting financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and variance analysis.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, lookups, and scenario analysis.
• Experience working with an ERP or financial reporting system.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage recurring weekly and monthly deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively with financial and non-financial teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting finance leadership.
• Experience supporting rolling T-12 and F-12 models.
• Experience in eCommerce, retail, marketplace, fulfillment, Procurement, or finished goods inventory environments.
• Experience preparing inventory metrics, margin analyses, cash flow models, or operational scorecards.
• Experience with NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, Power BI, or comparable systems.

Working Conditions

• Full-time, on-site position in San Diego, California.

• This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable wage and hour requirements.

• All hours worked must be accurately recorded in accordance with company timekeeping requirements.

• Additional hours may occasionally be required during forecasting, month-end close, quarterly reporting, year-end reporting, and Board reporting cycles.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Primarily sedentary office work involving extended computer use.

• Requires analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

• May require occasional visits to fulfillment or operational areas in accordance with applicable safety requirements.

Pay Range:

$28.00 - $30.00/hr.
