Position Summary

Pressman Toy Corporation is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This position will support general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, audit preparation, and other recurring accounting responsibilities.

The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Assistant Controller and work closely with our AP and AR teams, as well as colleagues across our international organization.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working independently, and interested in taking ownership of assigned accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, a willingness to learn new systems, and an interest in improving existing processes through technology and automation.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other month-end adjustments.

· Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations, including researching and resolving discrepancies.

· Support month-end close activities across multiple legal entities, including intercompany transactions and reconciliations.

· Assist with financial reporting, account analysis, and preparation of monthly and quarterly supporting schedules.

· Review AP and AR activity for accounting accuracy and assist the respective teams with resolving discrepancies, unusual transactions, and more complex accounting issues.

· Support internal and external audits by preparing and organizing Prepared by Client (PBC) schedules, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests.

· Assist with sales and use tax compliance, including preparing supporting schedules, reconciling tax accounts, and coordinating periodic tax filings.

· Prepare quarterly royalty and commission calculations, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

· Coordinate the annual 1099 reporting process, including reviewing vendor information, reconciling reportable payments, and assisting with the preparation and filing of required forms.

· Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and other accounting systems.

· Collaborate with colleagues and business partners across different countries, regions, and time zones to resolve accounting issues and meet reporting deadlines.

· Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls through Excel, AI tools, ERP functionality, and other technology.

· Take ownership of assigned recurring accounting responsibilities and assist with special projects as needed.

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

· Approximately 2–4 years of accounting experience preferred.

· Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.

· Experience supporting accounting activities across multiple legal entities preferred.

· Strong Excel skills, including experience with PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and other financial analysis tools.

· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred; QuickBooks experience is a plus.

· Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing PBC documentation preferred.

· Experience with sales and use tax reporting, royalty or commission calculations, and annual 1099 reporting is a plus.

· Comfortable learning and using AI-powered tools to support accounting, financial analysis, and process improvement.

· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with international teams.

· Ability to work independently, investigate discrepancies, and communicate issues or questions in a timely manner.
