About the role

About the Role

Christie Lites is seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Director of Finance to support the financial interests and privately held entities of a senior executive.

This position will operate as the senior financial lead for a diverse portfolio that includes personal financial matters, investments, real estate holdings, and privately held operating businesses across industries including solar energy and sales.

This is a unique opportunity for someone comfortable working in a highly trusted environment with significant autonomy. You will work directly with the principal and coordinate closely with outside accountants, attorneys, bankers, tax professionals, and investment advisors.

While this is a senior-level position, it is also very hands-on. The right person will be equally comfortable providing strategic financial guidance and working directly in the details to ensure accurate books, strong controls, clear reporting, and well-organized financial operations.

What You’ll Do:

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee accounting and financial reporting across multiple personal, investment, real estate, and operating entities.
  • Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and consolidated reporting.
  • Prepare clear monthly and quarterly financial statements, cash-flow reporting, and financial summaries.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records so that individual entities can be audited, sold, transferred, or separated efficiently.
  • Review and oversee bookkeeping activity and coordinate with outside accounting professionals.

Cash, Banking & Treasury:

  • Manage cash flow, bank accounts, credit facilities, payments, and liquidity across multiple entities.
  • Monitor balances and anticipated cash requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with banks and lenders.
  • Track debt obligations, loan requirements, and financial covenants.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate payment approval processes, internal controls, and fraud-prevention measures.

Tax & Compliance:

  • Coordinate personal, trust, partnership, and corporate tax filings with outside CPAs and tax advisors in the U.S. and internationally, where applicable.
  • Assist advisors with tax planning, estate planning, and entity structuring.
  • Maintain organized documentation for tax and compliance purposes.
  • Track entity registrations, insurance requirements, property taxes, regulatory filings, and other financial deadlines.

Investments & Financial Planning:

  • Track and report on investments, real estate holdings, private businesses, and other assets.
  • Maintain clear visibility into portfolio performance, cash requirements, and financial position.
  • Evaluate potential investments, acquisitions, and business opportunities.
  • Prepare financial models, projections, scenario analyses, and due diligence.
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts for individual entities and consolidated holdings.

Financial Operations & Advisory:

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the principal on significant financial and business decisions.
  • Provide timely, concise financial information to support decision-making.
  • Evaluate and improve financial systems, reporting processes, workflows, and controls.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, attorneys, bankers, investment professionals, and other advisors.
  • Supervise bookkeeping and external accounting support as needed.
  • Handle highly confidential financial and personal information with exceptional discretion.

What You Bring:

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Significant experience managing multiple entities, consolidations, and intercompany accounting.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cash-flow management, accounting controls, and financial reporting.
  • Working knowledge of personal, trust, partnership, and corporate taxation.
  • Experience working with privately held businesses, investment entities, real estate holdings, high-net-worth individuals, or private/family office environments is highly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage both strategic and detailed financial responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple entities and priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional judgment, integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Comfortable working directly with senior executives and external professional advisors.

Compensation & Location:

  • Base Salary
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Location: Orlando, Florida
  • Direct access to senior leadership and meaningful involvement in financial and investment decisions.
  • Broad exposure to investments, real estate, privately held businesses, and complex financial matters.

The Ideal Candidate

This role suits someone who has served as a Controller, Director of Finance, Family Office Finance Director, or similar senior finance leader and enjoys an entrepreneurial environment.

You should be comfortable moving between high-level financial strategy and detailed execution. This is not a position where the financial leader delegates the work; you will be expected to understand the numbers personally, identify issues, create structure, and ensure that financial information is accurate, timely, and actionable.

Above all, this position requires someone who can become a highly trusted financial partner while maintaining complete confidentiality and discretion.
