Our team enhances Walmart’s e-commerce search backend by applying machine learning and advanced algorithms to deliver precise product results. Focused on improving the customer journey, the team ensures seamless transitions from intent to purchase. Utilizing expertise in data science, natural language processing, and large language models, the team continuously refines search accuracy and user experience. Collaborating across functions, it supports scalable model deployment and data pipeline development, driving optimized business outcomes through innovative, data-driven solutions. This team fosters a culture of technical excellence and cross-functional partnership to advance Walmart’s digital capabilities.
What you'll do:

• Identify and evaluate data sources aligned with business requirements and quality standards.
• Develop, test, and deploy analytical models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Perform data quality assessments and ensure scalability and sustainability of deployed models.
• Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions and actionable insights.
• Create clear, impactful data visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into business processes.
• Mentor junior associates on modeling techniques and best practices.
• Support data strategy by applying governance, accessibility, and storage principles.

What you'll bring:

• Proven expertise in data science and machine learning techniques to develop and deploy analytical models.
• Proficiency in Python programming and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, or Tableau.
• Strong knowledge of data sources, database technologies including SQL and NoSQL, and data quality assessment.
• Experience in model validation, tuning, and performance evaluation using statistical methods.
• Ability to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
• Familiarity with data governance, management standards, and scalable model deployment practices.
• Effective communication skills to present insights and mentor junior team members.

Sunnyvale, California US-11656: The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
