Role summary:
The Senior Data Scientist will use advanced analytical techniques and domain expertise to generate actionable insights to support business objectives and accelerate decision making. This role involves sourcing and validating data, analyzing customer journey behavioral patterns, designing digital experiments, developing predictive models, and translating learnings to actions. The position requires proficiency in SQL, statistical methods (frequentist), and data visualization to dissect complex data and make recommendations. Collaborating across teams, the Senior Data Scientist will guide analytical strategy, mentor colleagues, and communicate findings effectively to influence decision-making and drive continuous improvement within the organization.
About the team:
The Purchase Experience Analytics team within eCommerce Decision Science enhances customer experience across fulfillment, conversion funnel, account management, and post-transaction touchpoints. Collaborating with product management, business strategy, engineering, and design teams across multiple business areas, the team applies advanced analytics to support decision-making and strategic planning. Their work drives improvements in eCommerce operations and customer satisfaction throughout the purchase journey. The team values proactive partnership, business acumen, and strong data analysis skills to deliver actionable insights and measurable impact, fostering continuous improvement across the organization.
What you'll do:

• Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains, ensuring data quality and suitability for analysis.
• Develop and test advanced analytical models using statistical and machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems.
• Perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to enhance model accuracy and drive business insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
• Create clear and impactful data visualizations and presentations to communicate findings and influence decision-making.
• Mentor junior team members on analytical methods, coding best practices, and data storytelling.
• Leverage in-house agentic and generative AI tools to enable self-service for partners and accelerate work efficiency. 

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience in data science, machine learning, and predictive modeling with proficiency in Python and SQL programming languages.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods, exploratory data analysis, and advanced analytical modeling techniques.
• Expertise in data visualization tools and best practices to effectively communicate complex data insights.
• Proven ability to identify and source appropriate data, ensuring data quality and governance standards are met.
• Ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions and provide actionable recommendations.
• Demonstrated mentoring skills to guide junior associates in analytics and modeling techniques.
