Role summary:
The Director, Product Development is a strategic leader responsible for shaping innovative products that delight our members and drive business growth. This role leads complex product portfolios from strategy through commercialization, translating member insights, market trends, and business priorities into differentiated products and experiences. Partnering across Merchandising, Sourcing, Quality, Operations, and suppliers, the Director sets product strategy, solves complex challenges, accelerates speed to market, and delivers against quality, value, and financial expectations. This leader also builds and develops high-performing teams, fosters a culture of innovation and accountability, and influences across the organization to shape the future of Walmart’s private brands.
About the team:
The Member’s Mark Product Development team brings innovative, high-quality products to life across Freezer, Cooler, and Adult Beverage. We are a collaborative, member-obsessed team that combines culinary and product expertise, consumer insights, market trends, and commercial acumen to create differentiated products our members love. Working closely with Merchandising, Sourcing, Quality, suppliers, and other cross-functional partners, we lead products from concept through commercialization while delivering on quality, value, and business performance. Our team thrives on solving complex challenges, challenging what’s possible, and continuously raising the bar for Member’s Mark through innovation, strong partnerships, and an unwavering commitment to our members.
What you'll do:

• Set the vision and product development strategy for a complex Member’s Mark portfolio, aligning member needs, brand strategy, and business priorities.
• Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team while building organizational capabilities and future leaders.
• Influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners to align priorities, navigate tradeoffs, and accelerate decisions.
• Shape a differentiated innovation pipeline informed by member insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
• Drive portfolio performance by balancing quality, innovation, value, cost, and speed to market.
• Champion transformation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Model leadership through integrity, accountability, collaboration, and member obsession.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Design, or related field and 5 years’ experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or
related area OR 7 years’ experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or related area.
1 year’s supervisory experience.
