Solution Architect – Workday Integrations Finance

The Solution Architect - Workday Integrations-Finance owns the integration architecture between Workday Finance  and the broader RSM application ecosystem. This role designs Workday-side connector strategy, EIBs, Studio integrations, and API/Web Services contracts, and partners with the  Boomi iPaaS and API gateway Architect on canonical data models and end-to-end data flows.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Workday integration architecture aligning it with the Enterprise integration Strategy.  The WD area covers inbound and outbound flows to/from Workday Finance,  Workday Extend, and Prism Analytics.
• Design integrations using the full Workday toolset: Core Connectors, Workday Studio, Extend, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), and Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST).
• Define Workday security configuration for integrations in alignment with enterprise guidelines: ISU/ISSG design, domain security policies, and least-privilege patterns.
• Partner with the  Boomi iPaaS Architect to align Workday-side contracts with the enterprise canonical model and orchestration patterns.
• Design procurement-to-pay and expense management integrations — including Credit Card and AMEX GBT/Neo travel-agency supplier invoices, email-based (Outlook) invoice ingestion, Emburse employee expense feeds, and ServiceNow business-asset records from POs — plus Prism Analytics financial reporting and grants/projects accounting interfaces.
• Design Workday Financials integrations covering supplier accounts, customer accounts, journals, and banking interfaces, including JPMorgan Chase (FX rates) and payment/statement-file exchanges with ICICI Bank and Standard Chartered.
• Support statutory financial reporting extracts for regulatory bodies (e.g., Excel-based filings to India's Ministry of Corporate Affairs) and long-term data archival integrations (e.g., Microsoft Azure).
• Establish patterns for high-volume / high-frequency integrations (RaaS, streaming-style retrieval, change-data approaches) within Workday's API limits.
• Govern Workday tenant strategy as it relates to integrations: tenant refresh impact, configuration migration, and test data management.
• Maintain integration documentation: interface catalogs, sequence diagrams, error/retry playbooks, and operational runbooks.
• Support hyper-care and steady-state operations: triage integration failures, drive root cause analysis, and lead remediation.

  Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of integration architecture experience, with at least 4 years focused on Workday integrations in a deployment partner or large enterprise.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, and Workday Web Services (SOAP and REST).
• Strong understanding of Workday security architecture and ISU/ISSG patterns for integration accounts.
• Experience with Workday RaaS (Reports as a Service), calculated fields, and complex XSLT transformations.
• Familiarity with Boomi AtomSphere or a comparable iPaaS and Camunda orchestration counterpart to Workday-side integrations.
• Knowledge of finance and tax interface patterns (e.g., JPMorgan Chase, ICICI Bank, and Standard Chartered banking connections, ISO 20022, procurement, and tax authority reporting).
• Workday Pro - Integrations certification strongly preferred.
• Experience operating in regulated environments and adhering to SOC 2 / SOX control requirements for integrations.
• Strong communication skills; ability to engage Workday functional leads, integration developers, and downstream system owners.
• Prior experience in a contractor / consulting model and ability to operate independently with light oversight.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $147,000 - $260,700

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
