As a Technical Systems Analyst, you will join a collaborative team in a hybrid work environment and play a key role in the technical administration and support of NAIT’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, as well as the enterprise applications and integrations that connect it with systems across the institute.

This is a senior-level role involving highly complex, non-routine technical problems. You will work both independently and as part of a team, collaborate with internal clients, vendors and contractors to identify solutions, and contribute to the development of IT policies, procedures and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting and upgrading NAIT's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environments, including leading PeopleTools upgrades, PUM image updates, selective adoption of maintenance, and Critical Patch Updates (CPU)
• Setting up, administering, maintaining and supporting the servers and technical components of NAIT's enterprise applications, including installations, upgrades, and integrations with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and other internal and external systems
• Performing day-to-day administration of the Microsoft SQL Server databases that support PeopleSoft and other enterprise applications, including backup and recovery, database refreshes, security and monitoring
• Managing the environment lifecycle (Production, Test and Development), including environment refreshes, code and object migrations, and change management
• Analyzing complex business and IT challenges, performing root cause analysis across the application, web and database tiers, recommending solutions and leading their implementation
• Maintaining system security and compliance, including vulnerability remediation, SSL/TLS certificate management, single sign-on and access controls
• Monitoring system performance and availability, and providing recommendations on capacity planning and infrastructure
• Developing and testing scripts (e.g., PowerShell), processes and implementation plans for automation, deployments and upgrades
• Creating technical documentation, runbooks and quality control procedures
• Conducting technology research and recommending improvements to NAIT’s enterprise application platforms
• Effectively responding to technical emergencies, with flexibility to work occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance windows as needed
  

Skills & Abilities

• Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft technical administration, preferably Campus Solutions, including PeopleTools, WebLogic, Tuxedo, Process Scheduler, Integration Broker, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, PUM, Change Assistant and DPK
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, backup/restore, security, basic T-SQL and SQL Server Agent jobs
• Windows Server and IIS administration
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and system administration
• Experience with integration technologies (REST/SOAP web services, SSIS, file-based interfaces)
• Understanding of networking and security concepts such as load balancers, firewalls, SSL/TLS certificates and single sign-on (SAML, Microsoft Entra ID)
• Significant technical and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and lead troubleshooting, escalation and emergency response processes
• Strong knowledge of organizational infrastructure, policies and procedures, including privacy requirements (FOIP) for handling sensitive student and personal information
• Excellent communication abilities to effectively support, collaborate with, and advise both clients and colleagues, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical staff
• Ability to prioritize work in a dynamic environment with competing deadlines
• The following are considered assets:
  • PeopleSoft development experience (PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, SQR, Integration Broker services)
  • Experience with Infosilem or other academic scheduling systems
  • Advanced SQL Server skills (performance tuning, execution plans, indexing)
  • Microsoft Azure (VM management, Azure SQL, Azure Files, networking and security)
  • Terraform, git, containers and Kubernetes

Qualifications

• Related information technology diploma
• Related information technology certifications
• 5-7 years of related experience
• Equivalencies may be considered
• Demonstrated experience administering PeopleSoft in a production environment, along with hands-on Microsoft SQL Server administration experience is an asset

Remuneration

Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

The compensation range for this job posting is : $86,686.95 - $114,845.29
