We are looking for a Business Data Analyst to join our analytics team and help deliver data-driven insights across product performance, customer onboarding, operational efficiency, and business reporting.

In this role, you will work with large datasets, build and maintain reports and dashboards, analyze business trends, and provide leadership teams with accurate, actionable insights. You will partner with stakeholders across Product, Operations, Sales, Finance, and Customer Experience to measure performance, identify opportunities, and support informed decision-making.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys solving business problems through data, improving reporting processes, and translating complex information into clear recommendations. The successful candidate will contribute to reliable reporting, stronger business insights, and increased visibility into product and operational performance.

Location: You will be based in our Etobicoke office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Analytics – Product & Operations.

Posting Type: Replacement.

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $71,000 - $100,000.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

• Build, maintain, and enhance recurring reports, dashboards, scorecards, and analytical outputs used by business and leadership teams.
• Analyze trends across product performance, customer onboarding, operational service levels, revenue, customer experience, sales channels, and business process efficiency.
• Extract, validate, and analyze data from multiple systems using SQL, Excel, BI tools, and other analytics platforms.
• Translate business questions into clear analysis, insights, and recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support recurring reporting cycles, leadership updates, performance reviews, and ad hoc analytical requests.
• Partner with stakeholders to define reporting requirements, establish metric definitions, validate assumptions, and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Identify data quality issues, reporting gaps, process inefficiencies, and opportunities to automate and improve reporting processes.
• Maintain documentation for key reports, dashboards, data sources, metrics, assumptions, and business rules.
• Contribute to analytics modernization initiatives, including dashboard enhancements, reporting automation, data model improvements, and migration to modern data platforms.

Required skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
• 3–5 years of experience in a Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Operations Analyst, or similar role.
• Experience building and maintaining reports, dashboards, or recurring business performance reporting.
• Experience partnering with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven insights.
• Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, common table expressions, data validation, and analysis of large datasets.
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data preparation, and structured analysis.
• Experience with BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Experience analyzing data from multiple sources to identify trends, issues, and business implications.

Experience that would set you apart

• Experience in payments, financial services, technology, product analytics, operations analytics, or customer experience analytics.
• Experience with Python, Jupyter Notebook, Snowflake, dbt, reporting automation tools, or statistical analysis.
