This part-time, Research Assistant 1 position is in Prof. Thomas Szkopek’s research team, in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Position Summary:
Assist Prof. Szkopek’s research group in graphene ion sensitive field effect transistor-based sensor research, with the following activities:

• design, fabrication, test and iterative improvement of physical test fixtures including electrical contacts, mechanical assembly, and liquid flow cell access for functionalization and test of graphene ion sensitive field effect transistor-based sensors,

• document the design, fabrication and test of all test fixtures, including device yield results

• assist with graphene field effect transistor fabrication and test

• contingent on available time and research team needs, assist with the design and implementation of research instrumentation for other projects
  

Qualifications:
The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as but not limited to mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, applied science, or physics. The candidate must have experience in the design and implementation of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Familiarity with electronic instrumentation, microfluidics, additive manufacturing methods and system integration is beneficial. The candidate must be capable of working in a multi-disciplinary research environment
