The Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture is seeking to recruit an Office Assistant to provide portfolio tutoring and guidance to Architecture students, supporting them in showcasing their work effectively and developing strong portfolios for graduate studies, internships, and professional opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a welcoming and supportive environment for prospective students, answering questions related to portfolio preparation, admissions processes, and program requirements.
- Offer one-on-one and group guidance on developing, organizing, and presenting strong portfolios.
- Schedule portfolio review appointments, workshops, and information sessions.
- Maintain records of student consultations, attendance, and portfolio review activities.
- Prepare and distribute workshop materials, presentations, guides, and communications.
- Assist with the coordination of portfolio review events, open houses, recruitment activities, and admissions-related sessions.
- Respond to inquiries by email, phone, and in person, directing students to appropriate resources and services as needed.
- Support the collection and organization of portfolio submissions and related documentation.
- Help track educational materials, equipment, and resources used during tutoring sessions and events.
- Maintain an organized, professional, and student-focused workspace.
- Perform other related duties as required in support of portfolio tutoring and student recruitment activities.
Qualifications:
- Current graduate student or recent graduate in Architecture or a closely related field.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in architectural design and presentation.
- Knowledge of graduate school application processes and internship opportunities in Architecture.
- Experience mentoring, tutoring, teaching, or advising students is an asset.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and other relevant digital tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a student-focused environment.
