Winter 2027 Course Lecturer Position

The Department of Political Science is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Winter 2027. Please include your Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae and if applicable a copy of your Study/Work Permit. A brief course outline is optional.

POLI 381-001 Politics in Japan and South Korea (3 Credits - CAP 80)
An introduction to key issues of contemporary politics in Japan and South Korea, covering the politics and economic development of Post-WWII Japan and Post-Korean War South Korea. Themes include: How were the contemporary political systems established in Japan and South Korea? How have these systems changed over time? What are the impacts of political institutions on the political and economic development in the two countries? How do social actors and political and economic institutions interact with each other? What are the foreign policymaking strategies in the two countries?

Teaching Qualification Requirements:

• A completed PhD degree or enrolled in a doctoral program in Political Science or a discipline related to the course;
• Provide evidence of effective teaching ability as a result of having successfully taught a similar course;
• The candidate's area of specialization must be as close as possible to that of the course being offered;
• Experience as a teaching assistant for a course is an asset.

Monday and Wednesday 04:05 pm-05:25 pm, January 5, 2027 – April 14, 2027. Location: ENGMD 280.

Salary: $11,824 per course.
