Job Summary:

The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering and Test Capability (SE&TC) Center seeks talented Systems Engineers. Our team located in Atlanta, Georgia integrates hardware and software, develops test plans and procedures, debugs and evaluates system functions and interfaces, and verifies system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab and in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. Every day is a different set of challenges to overcome. You'll be expected to collaborate across disciplines and partner to implement solutions. In this role, you'll get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts.

You will support Electronic Warfare product development, engineering testing, integration and flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post deployment support across the product lifecycle. Through Digital Transformation (DTx) you will perform these functions using a variety of methods and enabling technologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development.

This position is an onsite role in Atlanta, Georgia and Test event support activity may require travel which is not expected to exceed 20%.

What You Will Do:

As a Systems Engineer, you will contribute to developing innovative solutions to technical challenges in signal processing design. Your responsibilities will involve assisting in the creation or modification of electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms, as well as supporting the development and execution of test plans, simulations, and lab tests to verify system capabilities. You will help evaluate the functional performance of RF systems, including signal processing subsystems and firmware/control algorithms.

Additionally, you will assist in integration, verification, and troubleshooting activities in lab and field environments, utilizing test equipment to support root cause analyses and corrective actions. You will participate in preparing performance evaluations using tools like MATLAB, maintaining engineering specifications and drawings, and compiling findings for reports and briefings. Working alongside Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs), you will collaborate on team initiatives, attend meetings, and support the implementation of process requirements. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and grow your skills in the field of systems engineering.

What You Will Learn:

After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a team supporting systems engineering, integration, and test activities across the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Physics or Computer Science (STEM preferred).

• Experience with tools, such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB or Python, for data analysis and automation

• Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer:  

• RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation characteristics and analysis, and/or algorithm implementation and testing.

• Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols

• Experience integrating software and firmware onto electronic hardware systems

• Experience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
