Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Agile Release Train Engineer (RTE) / Solution Train Engineer (STE) to lead Agile Release Trains and coordinate multi-train integration efforts supporting mission-critical solutions for U.S. defense programs. This senior-level role focuses on developing and managing Agile roadmaps, driving multi-team synchronization, ensuring impediments are addressed quickly, and applying Lean and Continuous Improvement principles to optimize program performance. The RTE/STE will also champion the use of digital engineering tools, analytics, and automation to improve decision-making, integration, and overall delivery efficiency.

What You Will Do

• Serve as a Senior Release Train Engineer and/or Solution Train Engineer for complex, multi-team Agile trains

• Lead development, communication, and management of Agile roadmaps across teams, trains, and solution-level stakeholders

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Agile Events including Increment Planning, Roadmapping, Retrospectives, Program Performance Reviews, and Risk Management Reviews

• Identify, remove, and mitigate cross-team and cross-train impediments that impact cost, schedule, integration, or technical performance

• Work closely with engineering, product, and program leadership to ensure roadmaps remain accurate, achievable, and aligned with customer and mission needs

• Drive identification of improvement opportunities and implement Lean and CI practices that enhance flow, reduce waste, and increase value delivery

• Champion digital engineering tools, analytics, modeling environments, and automation to solve problems and streamline workflow across trains

• Coordinate cross-team dependencies, integration points, system behaviors, and solution-level technical alignment

• Monitor Agile delivery and Earned Value performance metrics, and support preventive and corrective actions when variances are detected

• Ensure teams and trains adhere to engineering processes, configuration-management standards, digital engineering frameworks, and program requirements

• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across teams and trains

Qualifications You Must Have

• Experience working with Agile or Integrated Product teams and Agile lifecycle management tools (e.g., Jira, Jira Align, Engineering Workflow Manager, etc.)

• Experience developing and managing Agile roadmaps spanning multiple teams or trains

• Demonstrated ability to lead multi-team synchronization, manage dependencies, and resolve impediments quickly

• Experience using Agile delivery metrics and Earned Value Management data to monitor performance and guide team actions

• Experience with, and knowledge of, systems engineering lifecycles, integration/test processes, and complex, multi-domain systems

• Background in digital engineering practices such as model-based engineering, digital thread, analytics, or automated workflow tools

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

• SAFe certifications such as SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe SPC, SAFe Solution Train Engineer training, SAFe SSM, or PMI-ACP

• Understanding of system-of-systems integration, solution-level coordination, and digital engineering ecosystems

• Working knowledge of Earned Value Management including schedules, cost accounts, baseline planning, and variance analysis

• Experience supporting Agile transformation across large or highly-regulated technical programs

• Certifications in Lean, CI, MBSE, or Change Management

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills across engineering, program management, and product leadership in RTE and/or STE

• Active Secret (or higher) security clearance

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
