Process Operator

What You Will Do:

• This position will primarily be responsible for providing production and operational support to the Freeport Manufacturing Plant while maintaining safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operations
• Work a rotating DuPont shift schedule, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
• Respond to occasional call-outs based on plant and operational needs
• Be proficient in the safe use and operation of process equipment
• Perform all aspects of manufacturing a product from a process order or bill of material
• Operate pumps, valves, scales, and other processing equipment to support safe and efficient chemical production
• Operate and maintain equipment associated with plant utilities and waste treatment
• Operate transporting equipment used to receive raw materials and transport finished products
• Safely load and unload bulk materials from tankers
• Perform necessary hose line-ups for transferring materials from tankers into vessels and from vessels into tankers
• Prepare drums, pails, totes, and other containers for loading, shipping, and transportation of products
• Operate scales and maintain the drumming platform
• Use computer systems to perform production functions, including generating process orders, conducting inventory checks, creating labels, and completing quality checks
• Label and placard packaged materials in accordance with company policies and applicable government regulations
• Support processes to meet current ISO and Responsible Care requirements
• Participate in physical inventory activities
• Perform required Quality Assurance testing as needed
• Serve as a second-line Production Planner as needed
• Maintain clean, safe, organized, and environmentally compliant work and storage areas
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives and committees
• Troubleshoot and perform minor equipment repairs and notify Maintenance when major repairs are required
• Demonstrate the ability to provide direction and support to Assistant Process Operators and other Operators as needed
• Lead by example through a hands-on approach to safe, efficient, and reliable operations
• Support product quality and delivery expectations, including the plant's goal of maintaining a 95% on-time service level
• Perform other duties as required

Position Details:

• Work Environment: On-site at the Freeport, TX manufacturing plant
• Position follows a rotating DuPont shift schedule
• Schedule includes rotating day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Overtime may be required based on production needs
• Occasional call-outs may be required based on plant and operational needs
• Role is safety-sensitive

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year of manufacturing experience
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a hands-on manufacturing environment
• Ability to safely wear a respirator and other required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Ability to wear fall protection when required
• Willingness and ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and rotating day and night shifts
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, squat, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift
• Ability to work within the U.S. without sponsorship of a visa

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to successfully complete applicable pre-employment requirements, including a drug screen and physical examination
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
• Must be able to squat, bend, stoop, reach, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
• Must be able to safely wear a respirator and fall protection when required
• Must be able to safely work around industrial equipment and moving machinery
• Specific vision abilities required by this position may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• The employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and hear instructions, alarms, and other workplace communications
• The role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Process Technology degree or related technical education
• Previous chemical manufacturing or process operations experience
• Transportation experience
• Forklift experience
