This is a permanent full-time role, based in Regina.
CBC Saskatchewan is looking for a program manager to help lead CBC Saskatchewan at a pivotal time in the province’s history. You will report to the Director, Journalism and work alongside CBC Saskatchewan’s leadership team to execute the station’s editorial vision on our programs.
As the program manager, you will lead all programming on video, audio and digital platforms. You will be a key point person, along with the Managing Editor, in JSP guidance and programming direction. You will work closely with our communications team to ensure program and community outreach align.
You will be a champion of audience growth. You will bring audience metrics and data to our program teams. And you will work relentlessly to help connect our storytelling with the community.

Main responsibilities:
- Oversee CBC Saskatchewan programming
- Work within the leadership team to execute an editorial vision across CBC digital, radio, and visuals that balances immediate breaking news with enterprise storytelling.
- Ensure our storytelling adheres to CBC’s journalistic standards and practices, ensuring all content is fair, balanced, and accurate.
- Ensure our coverage reflects the true diversity of Saskatchewan, building trust with new audiences through inclusive storytelling.
- Oversees the station’s community outreach strategy
- Ensure program content is strategically leveraged, adapted, and shared across CBC Saskatchewan’s digital and television platforms to maximize impact.
- Drive the CBC Saskatchewan hiring strategy.
- Oversee the onboarding of new editorial staff, ensuring deep familiarity with CBC’s Journalistic Policy, technical tools, and local newsroom culture.
- Oversee performance management of all programs, including mentorship and training and development.
- Act as the primary local authority on CBC’s Journalistic Standards and Practices (JSP), when Managing Editor is unavailable, ensuring all stories meet the core tenets of accuracy, fairness, balance, and integrity.
- Provide real-time counsel on complex journalistic questions, including legal risks (defamation, publication bans), ethical dilemmas, and sensitive interviews.
- Serve as the final escalation point in the newsroom for breaking, highly sensitive, or controversial local stories, coordinating with CBC Legal and network leadership when necessary.
- Help navigate audience complaints or corrections transparently, upholding CBC’s accountability to the public
Experience Required
- Minimum of 10 years' related experience, including experience leading in a newsroom
- A track record of guiding complex journalistic decision making
- Experience managing staff and resources within budgetary constraints
- Experience leading the application of journalistic standards and practices in a daily newsroom setting
- An ongoing interest in and understanding of media trends as they apply to a multiplatform newsroom
- Experience in setting clear objectives and goals, and then to deliver on them
- Proven ability to make decisions rapidly and frequently within tight deadlines
