Boeing Commercial Airplanes is currently seeking an Aircraft Painter to support the Component Paint Team in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepares exterior surface of aircraft for painting
  • Makes necessary patterns, performs layout and applies prescribed primers, paints and finishes to exterior of aircraft
  • Applies aircraft finishes and external markings to aircraft sections

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


Aerospace Technician and Mechanic Aptitude Virtual Job Tryout: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. You will receive an email invitation at the address you provided in your application. From the date of the invitation, you will have 5 days to complete the assessment. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Availability to work variable shifts, with the understanding that your assigned shift will not be confirmed until after training
  • Ability to wear fall protection gear, safety equipment and mask
  • 1+ years of painting experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of Aircraft paint experience
  • 6+ months of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience

Shift: 

This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be assigned a shift at the time of hire based on business needs. You will remain on your assigned work shift until a re-evaluation is required. Shifts assigned for training may differ from your permanent work shift.

Summary Pay Range level B: $55,680 - $64,000

Summary Pay Range level C: $65,280 - $67,320
