THE OPPORTUNITY

The Officer, Senior IT Auditor reports to the SVP, IT Internal Audit Director and executes risk-based IT audits, technology control assessments, issue validation activities, and other audit engagements supporting the successful completion of the Internal Audit Plan. The role evaluates the effectiveness of IT controls, cybersecurity practices, IT governance, system development processes, and regulatory compliance requirements while identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, mitigate technology risks, and improve operational effectiveness. The Officer, Senior IT Auditor maintains audit independence and objectivity and performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates. 

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Perform a substantial portion of audit fieldwork.
  • Execute assigned internal audits, issue follow-up, issue validation, and other special projects.
  • Perform multiple audit activities and projects ranging from moderate to high complexity to support the successful achievement of the department’s goals and objectives.
  • Participate in audit planning and execution, including the scope, quality, and timeliness of work performed.
  • Learn and stay current on changes to the organization’s business, products, and services.
  • Maintain sufficient contact with business owners to broaden and strengthen the Internal Audit team’s relationships with key personnel.
  • Inform Internal Audit Directors and Managers of audit progress and potentially significant issues in a timely manner.
  • Identify areas where internal controls may not exist or require improvement.
  • Ensure workpapers are properly prepared, finalized, and filed, including the resolution of outstanding items and adherence to electronic workpaper policies.
  • Maintain audit independence and objectivity in all assignments and adhere to organizational and professional ethics standards.
  • Assess Information Technology General Controls, application controls, cybersecurity controls, cloud technologies, and technology governance processes.
  • Participate in risk assessments used to develop audit scope and testing approaches.
  • Evaluate compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Use data analytics and audit technologies to identify trends, anomalies, and potential control weaknesses.
  • Assist in developing audit reports, including documenting observations, risks, root causes, and recommendations.
  • Perform validation testing to ensure corrective actions have been effectively implemented.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of four to six years of experience in IT Audit, Information Security, Risk Management, Internal Audit, or External Audit required.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, or another relevant certification required.
  • Experience auditing Information Technology General Controls, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud environments, identity and access management, disaster recovery, and system development lifecycle controls.
  • Experience within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with FFIEC guidance, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, COBIT, COSO, and relevant banking regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Minimum of two years of experience in the banking or financial services industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulatory requirements and industry standards preferred.
  • Strong risk management experience, including supporting assessments and performing audits, preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulations governing Internal Audit and best practices for implementing these regulations preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills preferred.
  • Proactive, energetic, and team-focused attitude preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management, stakeholders, and partners to establish appropriate remediation efforts, preferred.
  • Ability to communicate risks and issues concisely and articulate their impact in a structured manner, both verbally and in writing, preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate, compromise, demonstrate empathy, and build effective relationships with the Internal Audit team and the broader organization preferred.
  • Ability to represent the Internal Audit department and interact professionally and competently with all levels of company staff preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess risks and controls preferred.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate team members, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines with minimal direct supervision preferred.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and autonomy preferred.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changes in the audit plan, projects, or team needs preferred.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, accept ownership and accountability for processes, and deliver on commitments preferred.
  • Ability to use various data analytics approaches to analyze data and interpret results preferred. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
