Position Details: Reporting to the Manager, Treasury Funding as an integral part of the HCCA Treasury team, the Associate, Treasury Funding is charged with maintaining medium and long-term liquidity forecasts, supporting new funding facility execution and renewal, and treasury-related intercompany reporting for Hyundai Capital Canada. The Associate, Treasury Funding also participates in managing HCCA’s swap portfolio and related variation margin positions with swap counterparties, and works closely with the Treasury Operations team in the management of existing revolving funding facilities. The role supports Treasury’s technical execution through market and funding data analysis, dashboard development, and process automation, while providing backup support for commercial paper trading execution and assisting with lender relationship management and other investor relations activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversight of LT cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning, maintain medium and long term funding plans and cash projections, keeping management apprised of liquidity conditions and ongoing needs while updating plans for changing business circumstances. Achieve target cash and available liquidity holdings while ensuring minimum excess liquidity carry costs. Fulfill cash-flow related intercompany reporting requests.
- Support the Manager, Treasury Funding, in the maintenance of existing secured and unsecured funding facilities, including planning for draws and repayments completing regular reporting requirements, and preparing and reviewing due diligence data for facility renewals. Assist with lender relationship management, facility renewals, investor relations and new funding activities. Review Treasury related monthly journal entries to ensure accurate booking and explain variances.
- Develop and maintain Treasury data reporting tools and dashboards, including the Market Dashboard, and support the automation and optimization of recurring data processes for facility renewal due diligence, investor relations events, and other Treasury reporting. Maintain organized and reliable Treasury data sources to improve the efficiency, consistency, and accuracy of reporting. Provide backup support for commercial paper trading execution, working closely with the Manager, Treasury Funding and the Treasury Operations team charged with managing short-term cash and liquidity planning and forecasting, in maintaining adequate current cash holdings and collaboratively plan for coming liquidity needs.
- Participate in managing HCCA’s swap portfolio, monitoring settlements and daily valuation movements, maintaining variation margin positions with counterparties, and complete regular internal and intercompany reporting related to HCCA’s swap portfolio. Act as a main source of interest rate and other market information for internal users, obtained through Bloomberg and other Treasury financial data platforms, and prepare analytical reporting and dashboards for senior management. Support swap trade execution with the Manager, Treasury Funding.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Work Experience:
- 2 years of professional experience preferred, including Treasury/Cash Management and funding
- Experience in Canada payment system and instruments preferred
- Auto finance or banking industry experience is preferred but not necessary
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with cash forecasting, daily cash positioning and funding facility negotiation/execution
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite user; strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency required
- Knowledge of treasury related accounting concepts relevant to financial instruments, interest rate derivatives, and hedge accounting
- Treasury workstation and /or ERP experience preferred
- Experience with securitized funding structures preferred
- Experience with large datasets and database programming software/ languages preferred (SAS, SQL)
- Experience with Bloomberg or other competing financial data platforms preferred
- Ability to work in a dynamic, and highly time-sensitive environment, and to challenge existing practices when appropriate
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, time management and multi-tasking skills
