  • Conduct defect assessments, confirm values, and authorize sign-offs or invoicing as needed
  • Provide field-level technical guidance and real-time decision-making on asset quality and construction standards
  • Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and contractors to resolve field discrepancies and design modifications
  • Support continuous process improvements by updating inspector guidelines and design specifications

  • Practical application of civil engineering principles to evaluate on-site materials and field execution
  • Strong field interpretation skills to analyze complex plans, identify issues, and implement real-time technical solutions
  • Exceptional negotiation and conflict-resolution skills to protect municipal interests during field disputes
  • Collaborative communication style to build productive working relationships with engineering consultants, contractors, and internal teams
  • Prioritization and multi-project management skills to balance several active inspection sites simultaneously
  • Independence and sound decision-making to determine asset acceptance or rejection with minimal direct supervision
  • Clear written communication for documentation reviews, defect reports, and standard operating procedures
  • Alignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies (https://bit.ly/4brRrXm)
  • Embracing a culture of equity, diversity, reconciliation and inclusion

  • Applicants may be tested
