As a Leader with People Strategy and Partnerships (PSP), you support a client-facing work area within Human Resources (HR) with a mandate to provide strategic human resources advice and consulting support on a broad range of organizational development and employee relations issues to a diverse group of business units. You will be an integral member of HR's leadership team and our client's senior leadership team. Your primary focus will ensure your clients' HR strategy aligns with The Corporation's business strategy. To deliver, you will lead a team of HR professionals to align and implement long-term human resource programs and advance strategic business agendas. Primary duties include:
- Advance client business objectives and corporate HR priorities through the development and execution of the HR Operational Plans, strategic planning, and identifying emerging trends and opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of divisional business plans, annual business strategies, and performance measures. Manage team resources and service level agreements to ensure agreed-upon activities are delivered.
- Identify emerging issues and determine how best to address, educate, or inform your team.
- Coach and mentor leaders and your HR team on the interpretation, application and impacts of corporate policies, collective agreements, applicable legislation, and leading HR practices.
- Lead and guide your HR team to consult on and resolve complex employee and labour relations issues while collaborating with subject matter experts and providing business context required for corporate programs in keeping with HR governance outcomes.
- Support the development and performance of the team.
- Lead and coach your HR team on workplace investigations and restorations, including workplace assessments, conflict coaching, alternative dispute resolution, and recommendations.
Qualifications
- A degree with at least 8 years in-depth Human Resources generalist experience is required.
- A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is considered an asset.
- Previous experience working in a leadership role, unionized environment, and/or regulatory public service context are considered assets.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic change leadership, people leadership, business acumen, problem-solving, organizational consulting, coaching, employee relations, and critical thinking are required.
- Ability to maintain effectiveness when faced with multiple and emerging priorities, incomplete information, and changing situations.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with clients, key partners, and colleagues in HR is required.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Workstyle
This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
Position and Pay Information

- Position Type: 1 Permanent & 1 Temporary (up to 18 months)
- Compensation: Level M2 $133,008 - 166,260 per annum
- Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
- Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
