As an Asset & Project Analytics Assistant, you will support corporate initiatives by organizing, validating, analyzing, and reporting on assets, capital project, and other business information. You will work with large and complex datasets, identify data quality and information management issues, analyze root causes, and develop practical solutions that improve data accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and efficiency. You will apply analytical methods, automation techniques, and quality controls to support reliable information and informed decision-making across a variety of corporate initiatives. You will collaborate with project teams and subject matter experts to produce reliable information and analytical resources that support planning, reporting, and informed decision-making. Primary duties include:
- Gather, organize, validate, and analyze information from multiple sources.
- Identify data quality issues, including missing, duplicated, inaccurate, or inconsistent information, and support improvements to data quality and reliability.
- Develop Python scripts and other automated processes that improve data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting.
- Develop reports, dashboards, visualizations, and other analytical products that support planning, reporting, and decision-making.
- Analyze business and data-related issues, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions that improve data quality, accessibility, consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Consult with subject matter experts and business users to clarify requirements, business rules, assumptions, and findings.
- Develop process documentation, user guides, templates, and reference materials that support consistent business practices.
- Provide analytical support for asset information, capital project, and corporate data initiatives.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalency (for example GED plus job-related coursework in data analysis, business analysis, information management, statistics,
- computer science, engineering, or related.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in data analysis, data management, business analysis, information management, reporting, research or process improvement activities.
- Experience using spreadsheet, reporting, database, automation, or programming applications is considered an asset.
- Ability to organize, validate, analyze, and interpret information from multiple sources.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, and communication skills are essential.

Workstyle
This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

- Compensation: Pay Grade 7 $36.60 - 48.97 per hour
- Hours of work: This position works on-call hours, based upon operational requirements.
