About the role

Your expertise in infrastructure engineering has the power to shape how one of the world's leading financial institutions operates at scale — and this is your opportunity to do exactly that. At JPMorganChase, we invest in our engineers, offering access to cutting-edge technology, enterprise-scale challenges, and a culture that values continuous learning and cross-functional collaboration. If you are ready to bring your deep technical knowledge to a team where your contributions directly influence platform resilience, performance, and innovation, we want to hear from you.

As a Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Sector – Infrastructure Platforms, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. You will continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise, driving meaningful impact across platforms, systems, and teams at enterprise scale.

Job responsibilities

  • Apply technical expertise and structured problem-solving to deliver creative design, development, and troubleshooting solutions for moderate-to-high complexity initiatives.
  • Provide Storage SRE expertise with deep knowledge of enterprise storage platforms including PowerFlex, Pure, PowerMax, and SolidFire.
  • Bring hands-on experience with iSCSI, TCP/IP, and NVMe-based storage products and connectivity.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of object storage (e.g., StorageGRID) and file storage platforms (e.g., ONTAP, Isilon); preferred.
  • Participate in a 24/7 follow-the-sun support model for storage infrastructure, primarily covering noon-to-evening hours.
  • Apply strong operational discipline across Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes.
  • Leverage Linux and VMware ESX compute environment knowledge to support integrated storage/compute troubleshooting (plus).
  • Drive workstreams/projects spanning one or more infrastructure engineering technologies, partnering with adjacent platforms to architect and implement modernization and issue-resolution changes.
  • Evaluate upstream/downstream system and data dependencies, advising mitigation actions to preserve resiliency and performance across enterprise infrastructure.
  • Embed reuse-first and AI-assisted automation practices to identify recurring issues, validate remediation options, and ensure changes are traceable, auditable, and aligned to resiliency/security standards.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments
  • Deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise storage products is a mandatory requirement for this role.
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows, with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations
  • Ability to tackle design and infrastructure problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across engineering and cross-functional teams

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working in large-scale, highly regulated financial services or enterprise technology environments
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools and modern DevOps or site reliability engineering practices
  • Experience with performance engineering, capacity planning, or infrastructure observability and monitoring tooling
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction and drive cross-functional alignment across engineering and platform teams
  • Prior experience operating within or contributing to enterprise-wide infrastructure platforms supporting a global organization
