About the role
Position Summary
The PCB Layout Designer & Engineering Technician is responsible for designing and creating printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for new product development, sustaining engineering, and technology projects. This role works closely with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers to translate schematic designs into manufacturable PCB layouts while supporting prototype builds, laboratory activities, engineering documentation, and design verification.
The ideal candidate possesses strong PCB CAD expertise, attention to detail, and hands-on technical skills to support products from concept through production release.
Key Responsibilities
PCB Design & Layout
- Create complex PCB layouts from electrical schematics using approved ECAD tools (Siemens Xpedition).
- Develop multilayer PCB designs, including high-density, mixed-signal, analog, digital, RF, and power designs.
- Perform component placement, routing, stack-up implementation, and design optimization.
- Apply design-for-manufacturability (DFM), design-for-assembly (DFA), and design-for-testability (DFT) principles.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to resolve signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, and EMI/EMC concerns.
- Generate fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing documentation packages.
- Support PCB design reviews and implement approved design changes.
