What We’re Looking For

The Application Support Analyst provides technical support and administration for clinical and business applications across the facility. This role is responsible for maintaining application availability, supporting end users in the effective use of supported systems, and partnering with vendors and enterprise teams to ensure applications operate reliably and in alignment with facility workflows. The Analyst, Application Support works across clinical, operational, and administrative domains to diagnose and resolve application issues, facilitate change management activities, and contribute to continuous improvement of the facility's application environment.

How you’ll contribute 

Application Support & Incident Management

  • Provide first- and second-level support for clinical and business applications, diagnosing issues and following through to closure.

  • Investigate and resolve application incidents including system performance problems, workflow disruptions, data integrity concerns, and integration failures affecting end users.

  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to vendors or enterprise application teams while maintaining ownership and visibility through resolution.

  • May be required to participate in an on-call rotation to support after-hours application incidents and planned maintenance activities.

Application Administration & Configuration

  • Perform routine application administration tasks including user access provisioning and deprovisioning, role and permission management, and configuration updates within defined parameters.

  • Support application build and configuration activities in coordination with the ITS Leader and enterprise teams, following established change management processes.

  • Monitor application health and performance; identify and communicate recurring issues, trends, or system behavior that may affect user workflows or data integrity.

  • Coordinate software updates, patch deployments, and version upgrades for supported applications in alignment with enterprise change management standards.

Change Management & Release Support

  • Participate in application upgrade and implementation activities, contributing to testing, validation, end-user training, and go-live support.

  • Perform structured testing of application changes, patches, and new functionality prior to deployment to validate alignment with facility workflows and enterprise standards.

  • Document test results, identified issues, and resolutions; communicate findings to the ITS Leader and relevant stakeholders.

Vendor Coordination

  • Serve as an operational contact for application vendors; manage support cases, track issue status, and drive resolution through vendor channels.

  • Coordinate vendor access to facility systems and networks in compliance with enterprise security and third-party access requirements.

  • Communicate vendor support findings, proposed changes, and contractual concerns to the ITS Leader for review and direction.

User Support & Training

  • Provide direct support to clinical and operational end users on the effective use of supported applications, including workflow guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and hands-on training.

  • Develop user-facing resources such as quick reference guides, tip sheets, and how-to documentation to support end-user self-sufficiency.

  • Partner with department leads to understand workflow needs and surface application gaps or opportunities to the ITS Leader.

Infrastructure & Project Support

  • Support facility-level infrastructure maintenance and technology initiatives as directed by the ITS Leader and in coordination with enterprise teams.

  • Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing activities relevant to supported applications.

  • Provide operational visibility to the ITS Leader by communicating recurring issues, workflow concerns, and application performance observations; perform other duties as assigned.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain accurate and current documentation for supported applications, including configuration records, support procedures, vendor contacts, and known issue logs.

  • Document all incidents, service requests, and resolutions in the enterprise ITSM platform with sufficient detail to support trend analysis, audit requirements, and knowledge reuse.

  • Author knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures for common application issues and end-user questions.

Compliance & Regulatory

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and applicable regulatory requirements in the handling of protected health information and systems supporting patient care.

  • Adhere to enterprise change management, information security, and access governance policies for all supported applications.

  • Support audit and compliance activities by providing documentation of application access, configuration history, and change records.

Qualification, Education, Knowledge, Skills:

EDUCATION: 

Associate's degree in Information Technology, Health Information Management, or a related field required, or 4+ years of directly relevant experience in lieu of degree. Bachelor's degree preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
Vendor-specific application certifications preferred. CompTIA A+ or equivalent a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2–4 years of experience in application support, IT support, or a related technical role required.

  • Experience supporting enterprise applications in a healthcare or regulated industry setting preferred.

  • Familiarity with enterprise ITSM platforms and change management processes required.

  • Working knowledge of enterprise application environments including user access management, configuration fundamentals, and application integration concepts.

  • Ability to diagnose application-related issues across functional workflows and identify root cause effectively.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to convey technical information clearly to non-technical clinical and operational stakeholders.

  • Organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple concurrent issues and requests with appropriate prioritization.

  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across clinical departments, operational teams, and external vendors.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM -5:00 PM.  Schedule may vary by business necessity.
