About the role
We are looking for a Software Architect to provide technical direction for the design and evolution of cloud-native software products on AWS. Working across product and engineering teams, you will turn complex business needs into coherent application architectures that are secure, resilient, maintainable, and built to scale. This role combines architecture ownership with practical engineering involvement, helping teams make sound decisions and deliver modern SaaS products for the insurance market.
Own the target software architecture for assigned products and translate product strategy into practical technical roadmaps, solution designs, and delivery priorities.
Design end-to-end cloud applications across user interfaces, application services, APIs, workflows, integrations, data access, infrastructure, and operational support.
Create and govern reusable architecture patterns, engineering standards, and decision records that promote consistency without slowing delivery.
Shape modular, domain-aligned services and bounded contexts that improve ownership, reduce unnecessary coupling, and support the continued evolution of the product portfolio.
Guide the design of microservices, serverless components, asynchronous workflows, and event-driven solutions using AWS managed services, selecting patterns based on clear technical and commercial trade-offs.
Define secure and scalable API strategies for internal services, customer integrations, and third-party platforms, covering REST, GraphQL, versioning, authentication, reliability, and lifecycle management.
Provide architectural direction for modern web applications built with .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, TypeScript, Angular, React, and appropriate user-interface component libraries.
Ensure non-functional requirements are designed in from the outset, including availability, performance, accessibility, observability, recoverability, security, privacy, and cost efficiency.
Partner with security and platform teams on identity, authorization, encryption, secrets, tenant isolation, network controls, threat modeling, and compliance requirements.
Influence CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, release, monitoring, and support practices so solutions can be deployed and operated safely at pace.
Lead architecture reviews and proofs of concept, documenting options and recommendations in a way that enables timely, well-informed decisions.
Coach engineers and technical leads, remaining close enough to implementation to identify risks, resolve design challenges, and improve engineering quality.
Significant software engineering experience, including recent responsibility for architecture or technical leadership within AWS-based product environments.
Demonstrated success designing and delivering cloud-native SaaS platforms, multi-tenant applications, or other complex enterprise software products.
Strong hands-on knowledge of .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, and modern front-end development using TypeScript with Angular or React.
Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, serverless computing, and API design.
Practical experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, EKS, S3, Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and CloudWatch.
Experience designing for relational and NoSQL databases, including effective data-access patterns, performance considerations, and transactional boundaries.
Experience with Docker and container orchestration, plus infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
Strong understanding of secure software design, automated delivery, application testing, monitoring, tracing, and production support.
Ability to communicate architecture choices and trade-offs clearly to engineers, product leaders, business stakeholders, and senior decision-makers.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
