About the role

The SQL Developer with DBA experience will ensure the reliability, performance, security, scalability, and modernization of business-critical SQL Server platforms supporting semiconductor and telecommunications manufacturing. This role combines expert database administration with advanced T-SQL development and requires experience supporting downtime-sensitive, 24×7 production environments.

  • Administer, monitor, secure, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot enterprise SQL Server environments.
  • Design and test backup, recovery, high-availability, and disaster-recovery solutions.
  • Develop, optimize, and debug complex T-SQL and stored procedures; improve data models and indexes; establish coding standards; and conduct peer reviews.
  • Develop and design SSIS and ETL packages and frameworks, including control-flow and data-flow patterns, SSISDB catalog configuration, project deployment, parameters, environments, incremental and delta loads, error handling, logging, and performance tuning.
  • Perform execution-plan, Query Store, DMV, wait-statistics, tempdb, memory, blocking, and deadlock analysis.
  • Lead database modernization, consolidation, migration, cloud adoption, and scalable architecture initiatives.
  • Minimize manufacturing downtime through proactive monitoring, controlled changes, tested recovery, and rapid incident response.
  • Implement database security, compliance controls, automation, capacity planning, and performance reporting.
  • Provide technical leadership, root-cause analysis, documentation, mentoring, and cross-functional guidance.

Must Have

  • Expert-level Microsoft SQL Server administration and advanced T-SQL development.
  • Strong knowledge of performance tuning, SQL Server internals, security, HA/DR, backup and recovery, clustering, and replication.
  • Strong hands-on experience optimizing and debugging stored procedures, including execution-plan analysis, parameter sensitivity, query rewrites, indexing strategies, blocking and deadlock diagnosis, and production performance troubleshooting.
  • Experience with PowerShell, SQL Agent, automation, source control, CI/CD, and cloud or hybrid database platforms.
  • Proven database transformation and scaling expertise, including upgrades, migrations, consolidation, capacity modelling, workload optimization, and high-volume data management.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication or manufacturing processes, MES environments, and production traceability is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8–10+ years of SQL Server DBA experience and 5+ years of SQL development or performance-engineering experience.
  • Proven experience supporting business-critical, downtime-sensitive manufacturing systems and leading major incidents, migrations, upgrades, or transformation programs.
  • Experience in semiconductor fabrication, high-volume manufacturing, or contract manufacturing is preferred.
  • Microsoft SQL Server or Azure certification, ITIL experience, and availability for maintenance or on-call support are advantageous.
  • Experience with Oracle 19c, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL is beneficial.
  • Strong ownership, structured problem-solving, and sound judgment under pressure.
  • Ability to translate operational needs into secure, scalable, and resilient database solutions.
  • Transformation leadership, stakeholder alignment, clear communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
