About the role
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of Accounting and Public Reporting, the successful candidate will be responsible for the entry of day-to-day accounts receivable and payable transactions. They will also be responsible for overlooking direct deposit and supplier maintenance requests. This position is fast paced and works on a one team approach. It requires the ability to organize and prioritize workload daily. The successful candidate will also contribute to the maintenance of internal operating procedures as required.
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of the accounts payable and receivable functions; knowledge related to accounting, administrative procedures and policies, general ledger systems and computer applications, specifically Word and advanced Excel skills.
Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a diploma in accounting or a combination of education and related experience.
You will demonstrate the ability to:
- input, edit, update and retrieve information on a computer using various software packages and applications with accuracy and within established timelines;
- verbally and in writing, clearly explain relevant/financial policies and procedures at a level appropriate to the audience;
- identify and assess problems, explore options and implement appropriate solutions using applicable policies and guidelines;
- plan, prioritize and organize large volumes of work taking into consideration work priorities and the work that needs to be accomplished; and
- recognize, support, respect and welcome the diversity of colleagues and clients.
