Director of Product Management, EHR

The Opportunity 

Help shape the clinical product experience at the center of home-based care. As Director, Product Management — EHR / Clinical, you'll lead the EHR and clinical work stream, owning the investment case for clinical product, the roadmap the company commits to externally, and the product managers and product owners who deliver it.

You'll partner with finance, executive leadership, product, design and clinical regulatory teams to determine where to invest, what the company can confidently promise, and how to respond to changing healthcare requirements. Your work will directly influence the software clinicians use every day to document care, manage medications and orders, and complete critical workflows in patients' homes.

Hybrid: This hybrid role is based in Dallas.

 

What You’ll Do
 

• Build and defend the investment case for the EHR and clinical work stream, including capital requests, business cases and ROI models.
• Allocate approved capital across teams and initiatives, rebalancing investments as priorities change while remaining accountable for spend and outcomes.
• Own the work stream roadmap and establish clear readiness tiers so external commitments reflect an honest level of confidence.
• Resolve sequencing and dependency conflicts across teams and escalate issues that cross work streams.
• Lead the product manager and product owner staffing plan, hire and develop talent, and provide clear direction and accountability across the work stream.
• Ensure clinical regulatory changes reach the roadmap early enough to plan effectively and determine when regulatory changes require roadmap adjustments.
• Partner with shared design and clinical regulatory services by forecasting needs, negotiating capacity and managing tradeoffs.
• Make decisions on funding, roadmap commitments, readiness, sequencing, regulatory-driven changes and team structure.
• Improve high-volume clinical workflows, with a focus on reducing documentation burden for clinicians.
• Guide product direction across clinical documentation, assessments, plans of care, visit documentation, medication management, orders, mobile and offline workflows, and interoperability.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications
 

• 8+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years leading product managers or product owners.

• Direct experience owning clinical or EHR products within a healthcare software company or health system.

• Experience building and defending capital or investment requests, including the ROI model behind them.

• Demonstrated ownership of a roadmap with external customer commitments and accountability for the consequences when commitments change.

• Experience delivering against regulatory deadlines where timing is non-negotiable.

• Ability to lead through product managers and product owners rather than performing the work yourself.

• Experience with clinical documentation and workflow, including software clinicians use for assessments, plans of care, visit documentation, medication management or orders.

• Experience with post-acute or acute EHR environments; familiarity with OASIS, hospice assessment and reporting requirements, or equivalent regulated assessment instruments.

• Experience working with healthcare regulation as a product input, including CMS rules, effective dates, documentation and billing requirements, and state mandates such as electronic visit verification.

• Working knowledge of interoperability standards and health information exchange, including HL7 v2, FHIR and C-CDA.

• Experience conducting discovery with nurses, therapists and clinical leaders and translating clinical needs into meaningful product outcomes.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
   

Preferred Qualifications
 

• Home health, hospice or post-acute software experience.

• Clinical background or clinical informatics credential, such as RN, therapist or equivalent.

• Experience establishing product operating models, including readiness tiers, decision rights or intake processes.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted discovery and prototyping in a regulated product environment.

• Experience working with a shared design function and central design system.

• Prior EHR vendor experience or experience on the customer side of an EHR implementation.
