IT Engineer I

Directly responsible for managing all Information Technology property support activities including the planning, procurement, installation, implementation, on going support and administration of all major technical systems located at the property.  

• Participates in the development and implementation of all operational processes that link property support activities and corporate Information Technology ensuring interoperability of the architecture, systems, and applications.  

• Ensures that operational processes and procedures support senior management initiatives, strategic objectives for Information Technology, and property initiatives.   

• Interacts with property management to ensure that Information Technology support is in accord with the property business objectives.   

• Drives improved results through staff development and training programs, and established methods, procedures, and guidelines to maintain desired standards, and high-quality service, then monitors results through inspection, evaluation, and analysis. Works with the Director to make changes if necessary to achieve results.  

• Management accountability for all team members for daily and long-term operations includes hiring, training, and developing employees, including coaching, mentoring and appropriate performance management up to and including separation.  

• Responsible for staffing and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business demands and ensure customer satisfaction.    

• Uses employee data and feedback such as EOS/SFS, turnover results, to create a positive working environment and support employee engagement.  

• Works with other departments and leaders to complete property/corporate initiatives and achieve effective daily operations.  

• Maintains compliance with all regulatory, governmental, and safety requirements.  

• Responsible for the overall integrity of daily operations. Maintains strong cross-departmental communications. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, internal control, and policies and procedures.

WAGE :  $19.00 - $23.00 an hour

• • Minimum 3 years of project leadership or general management experience; with specific specialty in Information Technology.   

• • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science; Management Information Systems; Electrical Engineering; or equivalent experience with emphasis on business, gaming, and technology preferred.  

• • 3 - 5 years of demonstrated experience in the application of a wide range of systems.  

• • Must be able to meet measurable objectives as defined on annual Performance appraisal.  

• • Good oral and written communication skills. Must be fluent and literate in English.   

• •  Proven expertise in handling user problems and vendor relationships.  

• • Able to prioritize, direct and monitor multiple tasks and assignments.  

• • Technical knowledge of the PC environment including hardware, operating systems, and networking. Experience in utilization of Windows applications in a business environment.  

• • Ability to analyze problems and apply logical/cost effective solutions.  

• • Evaluate, recommend, and implement proven technologies that apply to business strategies and system needs.  

• • Must possess excellent interpersonal and employee relations skills.  

• • Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guests and vendors.  

• Must be able to work in areas containing dust, secondhand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibration, crowds, and air quality.  

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.  

• Must be flexible with schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Will be subject to call 24 hours in case of emergency or facility need. 

•  Ability to stand and walk, and mobility to move easily property for entire shift. Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.  

• Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.  

• Must be at least 21 years of age and obtain licensing through Virginia Lottery.
