HVAC Technician

HVAC Technician performs preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshoots, and services industrial HVAC systems.  Technician performs tests and analysis of data to assure the proper functioning of equipment and provides recommendations as appropriate. Recommendations shall include remaining life expectancy, potential replacement and repair costs as well as business interruption risks. Must be well organized, communicate in a clear and professional manner with all visitors, colleagues and leaders. 

This is a full-time, onsite role based at our headquarters in Denver, CO.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Oversees large commercial installations, new construction layouts, and energy-efficiency retrofits.
• Supervision & Training: Leads teams of apprentices and journeymen, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
• System Design & Permitting: Interprets blueprints, designs custom modifications, and pulls official municipal permits.
• Advanced Diagnostics: Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, digital, and central energy management controls. 
• Maintain chilled water and centralized air handling units through regularly scheduled preventative maintenance activities 
• Perform coil cleanings, filter changes, test and balance activities, sensor calibrations, and UV bulb replacements 
• Belt alignments and replacement, drain pan treatments, damper calibration and repairs, cleaning interior of AHU 
• Perform electrical safety inspections
• Leads and helps other facilities technicians in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of commercial air conditioning and multi-zone heating and cooling systems that incorporate pneumatic, digital, and central energy management system controls 
• Ability to create cost and downtime estimates for major repairs and/or equipment replacement 
• Perform work to the highest industry and manufacturer recommended standards 
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and local safety guidelines including, but not limited to, lock-out/tag-out, OSHA, confined space, PPE, etc.
• Completes and documents all work and labor time using Engineering’s CMMS
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the Sr. Manager of Facility Management about equipment conditions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or equivalent required
• 5-8 years of experience in a commercial, industrial, or a healthcare environment minimum required
• 3- 5 years of documented hands-on work experience, including time spent as an apprentice and journeyman
• EPA Sect 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification Required
• Valid Driver’s License in good standing
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
