About the role

Who We Are:
Our team of innovators and visionaries is passionate about pushing the envelope and taking bold risks that inspire people to realize their beautiful potential. With our HQ in Dania Beach and our offices in California and Ohio, we’re constantly raising the bar and evolving to create a more diverse and cultivating work environment.

We develop our digital platforms and promote industry-leading products across online, mobile, social, and retail markets. Integra Beauty has created L’ange and OFIR two leading consumer goods brands that are paving the way for unlimited brand incubation. Our team is at the forefront of emerging trends and we are looking for like-minded individuals to continue growing our company.

About The Role:

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Product Developer to support the end-to-end development of high-performance liquid haircare formulas (shampoos, conditioners, scalp treatments, serums, oils, and styling liquids) across Integra Beauty’s brand portfolio. This role bridges the gap between cosmetic chemistry and commercial product development in our fast-paced Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) environment.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical familiarity with haircare chemistry and compliance, a proven track record of the full Product Development lifecycle, and experience partnering with contract manufacturers (CMOs) to build breakthrough formulas. You will assist with the formulation pipeline- from initial product brief, bench testing, and vendor management, through to pilot batches, stability testing, and launch execution.

Duties & Responsibilities

    Product Development & Formulation Lifecycle

  • Support the product development lifecycle for liquid haircare SKUs, working from concept brief and raw material selection through pilot testing and commercial production.

  • Translate DTC market trends, consumer insights, and target performance attributes into technical formulation briefs and clear aesthetic targets for external R&D partners.

  • Review, critique, and conduct hands-on evaluations of lab samples; deliver actionable technical feedback to bench chemists or contract manufacturing partners.

  • Coordinate formula validation protocols with contract partners- including stability, compatibility, and container-closure compatibility across liquid packaging (pumps, sprays, bottles, and tubes).

  • Maintain accurate technical product documentation, including formula sheets, INCI lists, raw material specs, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Certificates of Analysis (COA), and Master BOMs.

  • Contract Manufacturer (CM)  & Vendor Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and raw material suppliers on formula iterations, raw material substitutions, cost-of-goods (COGS) optimizations, and production schedules.

  • Leverage hands-on formulation experience to troubleshoot formula issues during scale-up (e.g., phase separation, viscosity drop, preservative challenge failures, scent masking) in tandem with vendor R&D teams.

  • Compliance & Cross-Functional Support

  • Manage product compliance documentation (Safety Data Sheets, PIF’s, COAs, challenge tests, ingredient decks, and claim support documentation) in compliance with US and international beauty regulations (FDA, Prop 65, California Safe Cosmetics Program, MoCRA, EU, etc.).

  • Collaborate with Creative, Marketing, Operations, and Regulatory teams to guide artwork creation, ensure accurate label claims, and deliver smooth inventory handoffs.

  • Partner with Customer Experience and Education teams to translate complex formulation science into clear, accessible product education and training materials.

  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and benchmark testing against top DTC haircare brands.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in cosmetic product development or formulation chemistry, with a specific focus on liquid haircare products (shampoos, conditioners, scalp care, and styling liquids).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, Bio-Materials, or a related technical discipline (Cosmetic Chemistry coursework preferred).

  • Proven track record of building SKUs from the ground up with external contract manufacturers (CMOs) and third party manufacturing vendors.

  • Strong understanding of haircare ingredients (surfactants, silicones, polymers, proteins, botanical oils, conditioning agents), INCI nomenclature, formulation stability, and pilot batching.

  • Demonstrated ability to assist with full PD lifecycles, cross-functional timelines, and complex multi-SKU rollouts simultaneously.

  • A passionate self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced setting; ready to roll up your sleeves, test formulas, and drive real business results.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Cosmetic Science or Chemistry (BS/MS).

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced DTC beauty brand environment with rapid product launch schedules.

  • Background in hair salon professional space, cosmetology, or professional trichology.

  • Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks (MoCRA, Prop 65, clean beauty retailer standards).

  • Strong presentation skills with experience delivering formula briefings to executive leadership.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance

  • 401k plan

  • Additional Opt-In Insurances

  • Vacation + Sick Time Pay

  • L'ange Hair Product Stipend- a quarterly stipend to help you refresh your favorite L'ange products and also try new products!
