About the Role

Blueland is hiring a contract Data Analytics Engineer to backfill the Director of Data Management & Analytics' workload full-time during a maternity leave from December 2026 through May 2027.

This is an individual contributor role (no direct reports, no team management) reporting to the team's Senior Analytics Engineer. The role keeps recurring data operations running and maintains existing Looker/LookML infrastructure while the Director is on leave.

Responsibilities

• Build, update, and maintain dashboards and reporting in Looker (LookML development across new and existing explores/dashboards). 
• Support the Sr. Analytics Engineer with ad hoc analyses and forecasting work. 
• Help clean up and maintain the LookML/GitHub codebase. 
• Manage our sales pacing methodology, ensuring recurring manual inputs and refreshes stay current across channels. 
• Handle day-to-day Data QA/UAT with our managed service data vendor. 
• Provide support for board data requests and recurring reporting sends to external partners. 
• Manage external vendor bi-weekly agenda and monitor workflow health. 
• Provide support, such as drafting materials, for quarterly planning + OKR prep.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field. 
• 5+ years in analytics, ideally within DTC, eCommerce, or CPG. 
• Hands-on LookML and Looker development experience (explores, views, derived tables). 
• Strong SQL and comfort working in Snowflake/Looker. 
• Experience managing external data vendors and troubleshooting data discrepancies. 
• Comfort working in Git/GitHub for version control. 
• Strong documentation skills, able to produce clear reference and handoff materials. 
• Able to work independently with light oversight and navigate ambiguity in a lean data team. 
• Available 40 hours a week from December 2026 through May 2027.

Additional Skills

• Working knowledge of Python and Hex (or a similar notebook tool). 
• Experience with statistics and forecasting/modeling techniques. 
• Familiarity with Notion and AI tools, such as Claude.

Hourly Rate

The rate for this position is $150-175 per hour.
