Software Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

This role protects release quality across web applications, APIs, and connected workflows, including intake, enrichment and qualification, routing, CRM delivery, automation, buyer integrations, and legal lead-delivery flows. Protects the quality and reliability of software releases and buyer implementations. Owns hands-on testing and QA process discipline across intake, verification, qualification, document delivery, routing, call transfer, and buyer integrations, while contributing limited business-analysis support to clarify requirements before development.

What You'll Do

  • Software testing (approximately 50%): design and execute functional, regression, exploratory, API, webhook, and end-to-end tests; document defects; retest fixes; and build/maintain automated regression suites.
  • Quality assurance (approximately 30%): maintain test plans, test-case libraries, release criteria, regression checklists, defect severity standards, QA metrics, and repeat-defect prevention.
  • Business analysis (approximately 20%): review specifications and user stories, write or refine acceptance criteria, map business flows, and flag gaps or ambiguous logic before development.
  • Validate backend behavior using database records and application logs; use SQL for test-data verification.
  • Log defects in ClickUp with reproducible steps, expected vs. actual results, environment details, logs/screenshots, and appropriate severity.
  • Participate in sprint planning/refinement and provide documented QA go/no-go recommendations based on established release criteria.
  • Partner with the Technical Project Manager on requirements and the Onboarding Developer on buyer setup validation.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years in software QA for web applications and APIs.
  • Strong manual test design, regression, exploratory, and edge-case testing.
  • API testing with Postman or comparable tools and working SQL knowledge.
  • Test automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, RSpec/Capybara, or comparable frameworks.
  • Clear defect reporting, test documentation, acceptance-criteria writing, and analytical problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ruby on Rails testing experience.
  • Lead generation, legal tech, call tracking, telephony, or high-volume integration testing experience.
  • Business-analysis exposure, CI test integration (e.g., GitHub Actions), and ISTQB or similar certification.

Work Schedule and Location

Remote - United States. Full-time remote. Minimum four hours overlap with U.S. Eastern Time, with scheduled additional availability on release days. Reliable internet, a secure remote work environment, and appropriate protection of company and customer information are required.

Compensation and Benefits
