Join Our Team

At Simply Ed, we support NYC public schools by making sure the technology that powers classrooms works reliably every single day. As a School IT Support Technician supporting M.S. 498 and M.S. 194, you won’t just “fix devices” — you’ll directly enable instruction, reduce downtime, and help teachers and students stay focused on learning rather than tech problems.

This is a single IT Support position working across two Bronx school communities. You’ll spend Mondays and Wednesdays at M.S. 498 and Tuesdays and Thursdays at M.S. 194, serving as an on-site technical resource at each school.

When a printer goes down, a Smartboard fails, or a classroom device won’t connect, learning can stall. Your work helps ensure classrooms stay functional, instruction continues smoothly, and technology supports student success. You’ll take ownership of day-to-day technology needs across both sites while building relationships with school staff and becoming a reliable part of each school’s operations.

Why Work With Us?

At Simply Ed, our impact in schools begins with how we support our people. You’ll find:

  • Mission-driven work – Your technical skills directly support teaching, learning, and classroom continuity every day.
  • Supportive culture – Open communication, respectful environments, and a leadership team that values operational excellence.
  • Career growth – Build real-world, school-based IT experience while strengthening your troubleshooting and systems skills.
  • Training & coaching – Learn from experienced school-based professionals and grow your technical and professional confidence.
  • Aligned scheduling – Consistent weekday hours that follow the NYC DOE school calendar.

What You’ll Do

As a Simply Ed School IT Support Technician, you will:

  • Serve as an on-site technical support resource across two Bronx school locations, following the designated weekly schedule for each site.
  • Maintain the overall health and functionality of school devices, including laptops, desktops, and classroom technology.
  • Configure and manage printer IP addresses and troubleshoot printing and connectivity issues.
  • Reimage and support Smartboards and other instructional technology.
  • Provide general classroom technology maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist teachers and staff with basic technical support to minimize instructional disruptions.
  • Troubleshoot device, hardware, network, and connectivity issues and work toward timely resolutions.
  • Ensure technology is ready and operational for daily school use.
  • Track, document, and communicate technology issues and resolutions as needed.
  • Manage priorities independently and respond to technology needs across different school environments.
  • Attend required trainings and staff meetings.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who are:

  • Motivated by keeping systems running smoothly and minimizing downtime.
  • Comfortable working consistently at two different Bronx school locations as part of one position.
  • Comfortable working in school environments with students and educators.
  • Experienced with basic IT support, hardware troubleshooting, and device setup.
  • Familiar with networking basics, including IP addressing, printers, and connectivity.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to work independently.
  • Able to manage technical needs and priorities across multiple environments while staying organized.
  • Strong communicators with a customer-service mindset.
  • Adaptable in fast-paced, real-world environments where priorities can shift quickly.
  • Cleared (or eligible for clearance) through NYC DOE PETS background check and fingerprinting.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

What You Gain

  • Competitive pay of $26/hour.
  • PETS clearance and valuable DOE school experience.
  • Hands-on, real-world IT experience in a live school environment.
  • Exposure to classroom, device, and network troubleshooting at scale.
  • A chance to build practical troubleshooting, organization, and customer-support skills that translate to future IT and systems roles.
  • The satisfaction of knowing your work directly benefits student learning and school operations.
