About the role

Job Title: Engineering Technician (Data Analyst III)

Compensation: $50/hr

Location: ExxonMobil Campus, Spring, TX 77389

Schedule: 5/2, Monday–Friday; 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Core hours are 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with flexibility to start earlier or finish later to complete 40 hours.

Travel and Reimbursement: Occasional business travel, approximately 2–3 field visits per year. Required work travel is reimbursable with receipts, including mileage at $0.93/mile, hotel, airfare, and meals. Daily commuting mileage and day-to-day allowances are not expected or reimbursable.

Scope
The Engineering Technician supports the Well Servicing organization through project coordination, rig scheduling, operational data management, reporting, and field support activities. This role serves as a liaison between field operations, engineering, and leadership to ensure accurate well servicing data, efficient resource utilization, and timely project execution.
The hiring manager described this as an engineering technician role supporting Bakken operations. The work includes workovers and plug drilling, with responsibility for rig scheduling, WellView data, wellbore schematics, and AFEs. This is expected to be a longer-term role.
Project Management & Coordination
  • Coordinate and track well servicing and workover projects from planning through execution.
  • Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and operational performance metrics.
  • Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and project documentation.
Rig Scheduling & Operational Planning
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize rig schedules for well servicing and workover operations.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts and recommend solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate schedules and communicate updates to stakeholders.
WellView Data Management
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry, validation, and maintenance of operational data.
  • Support standardization and continuous improvement of WellView data quality.
  • Generate reports and dashboards from WellView data to support operational and management needs.
  • Train and assist field personnel with WellView data requirements and best practices.
  • Support wellbore schematics and related data management.
Data Analytics & Reporting
  • Analyze workover and well servicing performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and operational improvements.
  • Develop routine and ad hoc reports for management, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Create dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics using Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Support post-job reviews and lessons learned through data analysis.
  • Assist with forecasting, utilization tracking, and operational performance reporting.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience supporting well servicing, workover, drilling, or oilfield operations.
  • Experience using WellView, preferably supporting workover activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables, and reporting functions.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience pulling data from SAP for cost tracking and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other business intelligence and reporting platforms.
  • Experience developing operational KPI dashboards and performance reports.
  • Knowledge of oilfield operational workflows and data management processes.
