Senior Accountant (Remote)

Key Responsibilities

• Support and execute month-end and year-end close processes across multiple legal entities and currencies.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, and standard close entries.
• Proactively review accounting activity and supporting data to identify and investigate unusual activity or discrepancies and recommend appropriate next steps.
• Develop and maintain clear, organized, audit-ready workpapers to support financial reporting and external audits.
• Support regional and consolidated external audits and annual accounts filings, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors.
• Review and manage revenue recognition activities, including evaluating contractual terms, monitoring revenue schedules, and investigating discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with global accounting policies and internal control standards.
• Coordinate US and international tax compliance activities, including indirect taxes, corporate income tax filings, and related regulatory requirements, in partnership with external advisors.
• Support broader Finance initiatives and ad hoc projects as business needs evolve, which may include insurance renewals and audits, ERP reporting enhancements, and collaboration with FP&A on data and reporting needs. 
• Leverage emerging technologies, including AI-assisted tools, to improve efficiency and data quality while applying technical knowledge and independent judgment to validate results.
   

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACA, CMA, or equivalent preferred.
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a global, multi-entity environment.
• Strong technical knowledge and practical application of US GAAP
• Experience with multi-currency accounting and supporting external audits.
• General understanding of US and international tax compliance principles, including indirect taxes (Sales & Use Tax, VAT, GST), with the ability to research unfamiliar requirements and collaborate with external advisors.
• Experience with ERP systems; Certinia (Financial Force) experience preferred. Familiarity with Avalara a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex accounting matters, exercise sound judgment, and develop thoughtful recommendations.
• Self-directed, adaptable, and intellectually curious, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, learn unfamiliar processes, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments, regions, and time zones in a remote environment.
