About the role

Schedule: Monday through Friday, with oversight of the department's on-call rotation

The Role
Arlinghaus is seeking a Kentucky licensed Master Electrician to lead and grow our electrical department. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced electrician who can guide a team, oversee safe and code-compliant work, deliver an excellent customer experience, and manage the department's performance and profitability. You will work closely with company leadership, dispatch, parts, and installation teams to keep jobs moving and help customers make informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Electrical Department
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the electrical department, including job coordination, scheduling priorities, workflow, and follow-through.
  • Lead, coach, and support electricians and apprentices; participate in hiring, on boarding, training, and performance conversations.
  • Set clear expectations for customer service, productivity, workmanship, safety, and professionalism.
  • Coordinate staffing and the on-call rotation to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with dispatch, managers, parts, and installation teams to resolve issues and keep work on schedule.
Provide Technical and Safety Oversight
  • Serve as the department's Kentucky licensed Master Electrician and provide technical guidance within the scope of that license.
  • Oversee diagnostics, repairs, installations, and quality checks to ensure work meets applicable codes, permit requirements, and company standards.
  • Support electricians on complex jobs, troubleshoot escalated issues, and step into field work when needed.
  • Maintain required licensing and certifications and help team members pursue relevant credentials.
  • Promote safe work practices and address quality or safety concerns promptly.
Grow and Manage Department Performance
  • Help establish department goals and track revenue, job profitability, productivity, customer satisfaction, and other key results.
  • Review estimates, job scope, labor, materials, and pricing to support profitable work and clear customer recommendations.
  • Coach the team to present appropriate options and help customers make confident, informed decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to grow electrical services and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Monitor truck inventory, material use, paperwork, and job records for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Report department results, challenges, and improvement opportunities to company leadership.
Qualifications
  • Active Kentucky Master Electrician license required.
  • Significant field experience diagnosing, repairing, and installing electrical systems.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or leading electricians preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, permitting, and jobsite safety practices.
  • Ability to manage job profitability, labor, materials, and department performance.
  • Strong customer communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office and service, scheduling, or sales software.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meet company requirements.
  • Dependable attendance, professional appearance, and a collaborative leadership style.
