Cloud Operations & Security Engineer

Limelight Software is hiring an AWS Cloud Operations and Security Engineer to run and secure the infrastructure behind our SaaS platform. You’ll work hands-on with AWS and Linux production systems, respond to operational and security issues, and help protect the company through strong access controls, monitoring, and security practices.

We’re looking for someone who can investigate a production issue, resolve a security finding, and improve the process so the problem is less likely to happen again.

What you’ll do

AWS and production operations

• Manage AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch, and IAM.

• Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, backups, and recovery.

• Troubleshoot Linux, application, database, networking, DNS, and SSL/TLS issues.

• Support deployments and operational tools such as Jenkins and artifact repositories.

Cloud and company security

• Manage cloud and employee access, including IAM permissions, MFA, VPNs, and endpoint security.

• Investigate security alerts and remediate vulnerabilities using tools such as AWS Inspector, GuardDuty, and CloudTrail.

• Maintain security controls, logs, incident procedures, and disaster-recovery documentation.

• Support SOC 2 evidence collection, control monitoring, remediation tracking, and customer security questionnaires.

Tickets and reporting

• Own infrastructure and security tickets from triage through resolution, with clear updates to stakeholders.

• Prepare customer platform usage reports for Customer Success and infrastructure usage reports for internal teams.

What you bring

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud operations, DevOps, systems administration, or cloud security.

• Strong Linux administration and production troubleshooting skills.

• Practical knowledge of IAM, networking, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, security groups, logging, and vulnerability management.

• Experience with scripting or automation using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar tools.

• The ability to communicate technical issues clearly and follow them through to resolution.

A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience is welcome.

Experience with PostgreSQL or RDS, SOC 2 or ISO 27001, and AWS or security certifications are assets.
