Principal Security Engineer

• Work Setting: Primarily Onsite/Customer Site Support Available Based on Program Requirements
• Salary Range: $145,000 - $180,000 plus comprehensive benefits package.
• Years of Industry Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Security Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain Active DoD Secret Clearance at the start of employment and be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance.

About the Role. G2 Ops supports mission-critical defense and technology initiatives by solving complex operational and engineering challenges. We are seeking a motivated, collaborative Principal Security Engineer (ISSM) to support Continuous Monitoring efforts across Navy acquisition programs.

In this role, you’ll contribute to technical cybersecurity assessment and oversight, evaluating program cyber posture, identifying meaningful cybersecurity risks and monitoring gaps, recognizing recurring trends across programs, and helping drive technically sound remediation while working alongside a team that values innovation, technical excellence, and continuous growth.

What You’ll Do

• Oversees and manages information security program implementation within the organization or other area of responsibility.
• Manages strategy, personnel, infrastructure, policy enforcement, emergency planning, security awareness, and/or other resources.
• Acquire and manage the necessary resources, including leadership support, financial resources, and key security personnel, to support information technology (IT) security goals, and reduce overall organizational risk.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant cybersecurity, information systems security, cybersecurity engineering, or closely related experience, including at least 5 years of validated specialized experience in Information Systems Security Management.
• Graduate degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience assessing cyber posture, vulnerabilities, security controls, and Continuous Monitoring capabilities.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements, risk management, and vulnerability management.
• Ability to identify cross-program cyber risks and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Current GSLC, CISSP, CISM, CAP, or CASP certification.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain Top Secret.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DoD, Navy, or other government cybersecurity programs.
• Familiarity with Continuous Monitoring, RMF, vulnerability management, and cyber risk analysis.
• Experience identifying recurring risks and trends across multiple systems or programs.
• Experience working in cross-functional or customer-facing environments

Compensation & Benefits. The annual salary range for this position is $145,000 - $180,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
