About the role

I.SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to support overall physical and technical security operations across assigned 1st shift and 2nd shift coverage. The Security Specialist helps maintain a safe and secure environment by conducting security audits and vulnerability assessments, supporting security technology controls, performing physical checks and patrols, assisting with incident response and investigations, and ensuring compliance with company security policies and procedures.

II. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES 
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Support management of security technology controls, including alarms, access systems, and CCTV support.
  • Perform physical security checks and patrols as needed.
  • Assist with incident response and investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with company security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with CCTV, Badging, and Loss Prevention teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and remain available for on-call support as required.

III. SCOPE OF AUTHORITY

  • Conducts assigned physical security audits, vulnerability assessments, checks, and patrols.
  • Supports security technology controls, including access control, CCTV, alarm, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Documents and escalates incidents, policy violations, security concerns, and system issues to management.
  • Assists with investigations and recommends corrective actions to strengthen physical and technical security controls.
  • Works independently within assigned responsibilities while coordinating with internal security-related teams.

IV. DESCRIPTION OF JOB RELATED CONTACTS  (Internal and/or External)
- Internal – Security Manager, CCTV team, Badging team, Loss Prevention team, site leadership, operations, HR, facilities, and other departments as required.
- External – Vendors, contractors, visitors, auditors, law enforcement, emergency response agencies, and security service providers as needed and authorized.

V. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in physical security, corporate security, law enforcement, or military security background.
  • Supervisory experience preferred, including 1–2 years leading or mentoring security personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of security systems, including access control, CCTV, alarms, and intrusion detection.
  • Experience conducting security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check with no felony convictions.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and remain drug-free.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Level 3 DPS License preferred.
  • Excellent report writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong teamwork.
    VI. PREFERRED EDUCATION:  
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field is preferred. Security industry certifications, such as CPP, PSP, or ASIS credentials, are preferred.

     VII. WORK EXPERIENCE:  
•    Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in physical security, corporate security, law enforcement, or military security background.
•    Prior supervisory, lead, or mentoring experience with security personnel preferred.
•    Experience with integrated security platforms preferred.
•    Prior experience in a warehouse, distribution, or industrial environment preferred.
•    Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
        
     VIII. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  
  • Be able to work assigned 1st shift or 2nd shift coverage, support on-call needs, and respond to security-related issues as required by business operations.
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive company, employee, vendor, visitor, investigation, and security-related information.
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, document findings accurately, and communicate issues clearly and professionally.
  • Be willing to support flexible hours, overtime, weekends, off-shift coverage, or emergency response needs when required by security operations.
  • Be able to follow and enforce company physical security, technical security, access control, CCTV, alarm response, incident reporting, and safety procedures.
