Junior Network Administrator

As a member of the Network Admin/Cyber Security team, you will maintain the company's network infrastructure, end-user devices, and core office IT systems, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of internal networks and essential business systems. This role carries responsibility across a range of technical areas, from troubleshooting hardware and software issues to supporting network infrastructure and cyber security needs.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in network hardware and software, a solid understanding of networking and cyber security fundamentals, and the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies. A motivated and resourceful individual who enjoys problem-solving in a dynamic, team-oriented environment will thrive in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Administration of user accounts and policies for corporate systems (Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra, Endpoint Management, PAM, etc.)
• Administration of Windows and Linux servers, including DNS, DHCP, and other core domain and network services
• Provision server and network hardware (Virtual Machines, Network switches, Firewalls)
• Management of server and hardware updates, including patch management and endpoint/server automation (RMM, Puppet, Ansible)
• Process access requests to network resources (network shares, firewall ACLs, etc.)
• Configure and maintain firewall security policies as directed, including UTM profiles, ZTNA rules, VPN, and routing
• Manage backups and perform periodic disaster recovery testing to verify recovery integrity
• Troubleshoot network, server and client related issues
• Manage software licensing, hardware asset tracking, and change control for network and server modifications
• Track and resolve work via ticketing system (JSM/Jira), including project tasks, documentation, and runbooks
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary Degree / Diploma in related field
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 / Entra policies and administration, and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, JSM)
• Working knowledge of Linux technologies preferred (OS installation, CLI configuration, essential tools, storage, etc.)
• Strong grasp of networking concepts and experience with network configuration using CLI (IOS or similar)
• Understanding of Security Appliance / VPN / ZTNA configuration and maintenance
• Experience with Fortinet, Ninja One, CyberArk, Azure, Nutanix AHV, Puppet, Ansible an asset
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Capable of work under minimal supervision

Location: Burlington, Ontario, in-office
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Vacancy: This is an existing position 
Salary Range (Based on relevant Experience): $65,000 to $72,000 per year.
