Senior Accountant

Compensation: $90,000 to $110,000 annually, depending on experience and alignment with the role

About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to join our Finance team and report directly to our Controller. You’ll own key areas of our accounting operations, including month-end close, reconciliations, inventory, and COGS, with the opportunity to improve processes as we grow.

This role is ideal for someone who loves clean books, solving discrepancies, and producing financial data people can trust. You’ll have meaningful ownership, room to grow your scope, and a rare perk in accounting: a consistent 9:00am to 4:00pm schedule.

Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, inventory accounting, and COGS is required for this role.

What You'll Do

Accounting Operations
Keep the books accurate, current, and closed on time every month.

• Own the month-end close process, preparing accruals, reconciling accounts, and ensuring books are closed on schedule
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliation
• Reconcile revenue and payment activity across e-commerce platforms and the general ledger
• Maintain general ledger accuracy through regular journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments
• Manage monthly credit card transactions and reconcile with department heads
• Identify and resolve discrepancies with clear documentation

Inventory & COGS Accounting
Keep inventory balances and cost of goods sold accurate, reconciled, and audit-ready.

• Manage inventory valuation and reconciliation across all SKUs and locations
• Track and analyze cost of goods sold, surfacing variances and insights to Finance leadership
• Review and maintain bills of materials to ensure accurate cost inputs
• Reconcile inventory records between the ERP system, 3PL reports, and the general ledger
• Support periodic physical inventory counts and resolve discrepancies

Financial Reporting
Provide accurate data and analysis that supports business decisions.

• Assist with monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
• Support KPI dashboard maintenance and variance analysis
• Compile financial data and analysis for internal reporting needs

What You Bring

Required

• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful ownership of month-end close and account reconciliations
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online as a primary accounting system
• Direct experience with inventory accounting, including valuation, reconciliations, and physical inventory counts
• Strong understanding of COGS and the flow of inventory through the financial statements
• Experience managing or supporting accounts payable and other day-to-day accounting operations
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including reconciliations, pivot tables, and working with large data sets
• Strong attention to detail and a natural instinct to investigate when something doesn’t look right
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and follow through in a fast-moving environment

Preferred

• Experience in a DTC, CPG, e-commerce, or other product-based business
• Experience working with 3PLs and reconciling inventory across multiple systems or locations
• Familiarity with Luminous, NetSuite, or other inventory/ERP systems
• Experience improving accounting processes or creating greater structure as a company grows
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

What Success Looks Like

• Month-end close is accurate, organized, and consistently completed on schedule
• Balance sheet accounts are clean, reconciled, and supported
• Inventory records tie across the general ledger, inventory system, and 3PL reporting
• COGS is accurately recorded, with discrepancies and variances proactively investigated and resolved
• The Controller and leadership team can confidently rely on the financial data you provide
