Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)
Experience Required: 10+ years

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SQL DBA to build and operate the large-scale data systems that power modern AI training and evaluation pipelines. The role combines deep data engineering expertise with a strong understanding of AI workloads, focusing on ingestion, transformation, quality assurance, lineage, and high-throughput delivery of data to training jobs across diverse modalities. The ideal candidate has experience operating petabyte-scale data systems, strong software engineering fundamentals, and clear understanding of how data infrastructure choices propagate into model quality and training efficiency.
 

Required skills

1. Strong Microsoft SQL Server administration and application DBA experience
2. Advanced T-SQL
3. Backup, restore and database refresh
4. Database/schema migration
5. SQL security, roles and permissions
6. SQL Agent jobs and scheduled processing
7. Stored procedures, functions, views and indexes
8. Query and database performance troubleshooting
9. Large database/data-movement experience
10. Troubleshooting application-to-database connectivity
11. Experience supporting ETL/data integration
12. Experience working with DEV, SIT, UAT, conversion and production environments
13. Experience executing controlled production changes and SQL data fixes
14. Ability to troubleshoot under time-critical implementation/cutover conditions

Preferred:

1. Medicaid/MMIS or PBM implementation experience
2. Large-scale data conversion/migration
3. Healthcare PII/PHI environments
4. Databricks/Airbyte or comparable ETL/integration platforms
5. AWS/Azure database connectivity
6. API-backed database integration
7. ServiceNow/change-management processes
8. Experience coordinating with third-party implementation partners
