About the role
Location: Lakewood, CO, Onsite
Reports to: Director of Data & Systems Infrastructure
About the Role
We're looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to turn our data into trusted insights that support all areas of the business. You'll own the full path from modeled data to data-driven decision making: building dbt models, defining governed semantic models in Snowflake that both people and AI tools can rely on, delivering Power BI dashboards, and answering the ad-hoc questions that come up along the way.
This role sits at the intersection of analytics and data modeling. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to understand what they need, and with our data engineering team to make sure the underlying data is clean, documented, and consistent.
What You'll Do
Partner with the business
Consult with stakeholders to clarify what they need, define how success will be measured, and turn requirements into clear reporting and analysis plans.
Train and support end users so they can explore data on their own with confidence.
Spot opportunities to improve efficiency through analysis, and recommend new reporting solutions when you see a gap.
Build the foundation
Develop and maintain dbt models that turn raw data into clean, tested, well-documented datasets.
Create and maintain semantic models in Snowflake that define metrics, relationships, and business context clearly enough for AI tools to return accurate answers. Test them against real business questions and refine as needed.
Improve test coverage and pipeline monitoring to ensure our stakeholders always have accurate data.
Deliver insight
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards that put key metrics in front of the people who need them.
Use SQL to answer ad-hoc questions quickly and accurately, from one-off requests to deeper dives into trends and anomalies.
Interpret results in context and present findings in a way that influences decisions, including being upfront about limitations in the data.
Keep it trustworthy
Trace discrepancies back through the pipeline and work with data engineering to fix root causes.
Document metric definitions, models, and dashboards so the business uses data consistently.
What You'll Need
Bachelors degree in Math, Biostatistics, Engineering, or another data intensive field; Master’s preferred
5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or a related role.
Strong SQL skills (required), including CTEs, window functions, and query optimization on a cloud data warehouse.
Hands-on experience building and maintaining Power BI dashboards (required), including data modeling and DAX.
Experience with dimensional modeling concepts such as star schemas, facts, and dimensions.
Experience with dbt or a comparable transformation framework, or a strong foundation in SQL-based modeling and a willingness to learn quickly.
Familiarity with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse.
Clear communication with non-technical audiences, including the ability to explain what the data can and can't tell us.
Attention to detail and a habit of validating results before sharing them.
Preferred
Experience working with healthcare data, with knowledge of population health and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) concepts such as quality measures, attribution, risk adjustment, and value-based care reporting.
Experience with ELT/ETL pipelines and how data flows from source systems into the warehouse.
Python for analysis, automation, or data manipulation.
Experience with Git-based workflows and version control for analytics code.
Exposure to semantic layers, metric definitions, or AI-assisted analytics tools.
How We'll Measure Success
Dashboards are accurate, adopted, and used regularly by their intended audience.
Key metrics are defined once and used consistently across reports and AI tools.
Ad-hoc requests are answered quickly, with results stakeholders trust.
- DBT models and semantic definitions are tested, documented, and easy for others to build on.
Compensation and Benefits
Bloom Healthcare offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including:
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Employer-sponsored 401(k)
Generous paid time off, paid holidays, and CME/professional development allowance
Hybrid work flexibility (Lakewood-based role; some remote work available)
Equal Opportunity Employer
