GoAnywhere MFT Developer
6-Month Contract
Remote – Candidates must be able to work onsite first week

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced GoAnywhere MFT Developer for a six-month contract engagement. This role will focus on modernizing enterprise file-transfer automation by analyzing legacy Microsoft System Center Orchestrator (SCORCH) runbooks and refactoring them into clean, scalable GoAnywhere Managed File Transfer workflows and job definitions.
The ideal consultant will have strong hands-on GoAnywhere MFT development experience, a solid understanding of enterprise automation patterns, and the ability to independently analyze complex processes, design effective solutions, manage migration risks, and document the resulting workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing Microsoft System Center Orchestrator runbooks and related file-transfer processes.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy GoAnywhere MFT workflows, projects, and job definitions to replace legacy automation.
• Create reliable file-movement orchestration patterns using SFTP, SSH, PGP encryption, Windows SMB shares, and related protocols.
• Configure and support authentication and connectivity patterns, including Active Directory and Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA).
• Develop robust error-handling, notification, logging, retry, and exception-management strategies for automated workflows.
• Conduct process analysis, requirements gathering, risk assessments, and impact analysis for migration activities.
• Partner with technical and business stakeholders to validate workflow requirements and ensure successful transition from legacy runbooks.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and post-implementation stabilization of GoAnywhere MFT solutions.
• Create and maintain accurate technical, workflow, process, and operational support documentation.
• Recommend opportunities to standardize, simplify, and improve file-transfer and enterprise automation processes.
• Work independently to manage assigned migration efforts, priorities, and deliverables within the contract timeline.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• Hands-on experience analyzing, designing, and developing GoAnywhere MFT jobs, workflows, and automation solutions; similar enterprise automation experience may be considered.
• Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Orchestrator (SCORCH), including the ability to analyze and interpret existing runbooks.
• Experience working in a Windows Server and Active Directory environment.
• Working knowledge of file-transfer protocols and technologies, including SFTP, SSH, PGP encryption, SMB file shares, and Integrated Windows Authentication.
• Experience with error handling, logging, monitoring, scheduling, and recovery strategies in automated processes.
• Demonstrated ability to perform process and requirements analysis, risk assessment, change-management activities, and complex technical migrations.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote contract environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL Server on Windows and/or Azure SQL Database.
• PowerShell scripting experience.
• Experience with regular expressions, text processing, and file parsing.
• Experience creating system, workflow, and process documentation.
• Familiarity with enterprise integration, automation, or managed file-transfer best practices.
