The Corporate IS Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Associate Application Analyst – BMDI. The Associate Application Analyst-BMDI supports the implementation of device integration into clinical IS applications in a Multi-Entity, 26 plus Acute Care Hospital Environment. Supports device integration design and implementations. Assists in design of new or determines modifications to existing device integration that will effectively accomplish desired objectives. Monitors the resolution of maintenance or enhancement issues assigned by the UHS Customer Support Center. Provides technical support to UHS entities as needed. Coordinates work assignments given to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress toward assignment completion. Shares experience and expertise with other members of the team. Creates technical troubleshooting and setup documentation material. Key Responsibilities include: Researches and resolves escalated Customer Support Center tickets including major application upgrades. Provides on-call support as scheduled. Establishes and maintains regular communications with user community. Assists in performing routine system maintenance and builds. Assists with developing Policy and Procedures to support medical device integration implementations, troubleshooting and downtime processes. This includes developing documentation and video guides. Collaborates on biomedical device integration requirements with clinical users and Information Services staff. Assists in designing biomedical device integration solutions. Coordinates activities with device support personal, technical teams and application teams. Supports system/integration testing and documentation for all phases of the development life cycle. Ensures quality of device integration and application functionality. Coordinates with Corporate Supply chain, equipment manufacturers, facilities and Corporate IS regarding procurement, upgrades and replacement of biomedical devices. Assists with user training curriculum. Maintains Implementation Project Plans and actively meets with stakeholders to assist in driving project related tasks, communications and milestones. Keeps up-to-date on relevant industry changes, bug-fix, and release notes. Researches new technology to better support our operations Keeps abreast of relevant Regulatory Requirements that impact medical device integration and clinical data capture such as The Joint Commission, FDA, and CAP. Actively participates in education regarding device and clinical system functionality through Webinars, User Group meetings, Vendor Classes and electronic mailing lists. Qualifications Position Requirements: Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Information Systems Familiarity with system application implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices. Understanding of bedside medical devices, medical device integration protocols and related computer systems such as instrument interfaces and Order Management Systems, analysis and programming techniques and procedures. Clinical knowledge utilizing bedside medical devices including telemetry/physiological monitors, pumps and vents preferred. General familiarity with user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the applications. Understanding of basic computer and network troubleshooting. Technical biomedical device support experience preferred. Ability to assist in facilitating sessions with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications; design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, coding, debugging, or modification of computer systems or programs based on and related to user design specifications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
