Responsibilities Job Location - 646 S Flores St – Cypress Bldg San Antonio, TX 78204 Schedule - Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm Hybrid (more than 50% in office work weekly) Job Summary: Corporate Tax is responsible for managing an organization's tax strategy, compliance, and planning to ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations while optimizing the company's tax position. Professionals in this job family play a key role in minimizing tax liabilities, managing risk, and supporting business decisions through accurate tax analysis and reporting. As a Sales and Use Tax Accountant II, you will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Detailed research of tax laws and regulations for complex sales tax scenarios such as manufacturing, construction, and data-processing Research and create sales tax exemption certificates, as requested by the business Prepare, review, and file accurate corporate tax returns Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize liabilities Ensure accurate tax reporting Manage internal and external audits and communication with tax personnel Analyze financial data Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and advise impact May coach staff and oversee their work The responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position. Qualifications & Key Requirements: Career individual contributor in a professional role. Works independently, receiving general instructions on new assignments, and a review of outcomes for technical soundness. Possesses complete knowledge of role. Applies a broad range of theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to assignments containing some elements of complexity. Majority of work is spent both independently planning and completing the design, implementation, and/or delivery of processes, programs, and/or policies. May coach, direct, oversee, or review the work of lower-level professionals. Networks with more senior internal and external stakeholders who may be unfamiliar with the area of specialty. Work Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience preferred Experience in corporate tax or public accounting Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Texas Sales and Use Tax experience a plus Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials and Vertex Sales Tax software, a plus Advanced understanding of tax principals and accounting practices Understanding of corporate tax regulations Proficient with tax software and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Strong organizational skills Ability to communicate in team environment Education: Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, taxation or related field Licenses/Certifications: CPA certification preferred Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Function in a fast-paced, office environment Travel by car or plane with overnight stays Work extended hours; sit for extended periods Occasionally lift 20 lbs or more The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
